Such beautiful work on all of these, but the first one is a show-stopper. For anyone who might argue that photography is not art, I would simply show that person your first photograph...end of discussion! It reminds me of the beautiful paintings of Robert Bateman.

Thanks, in my own yard. We are lucky in that regard. We purpose put a pond/water feature in, native plantings, bird houses etc to attract them over the years.
Good on you, Rob. That's the way to go if you want attract birds and provide these opportunities. Imagine if everyone made provisions for wildlife like that. Am loving your bird photos.

My new R5 came this week! Having shot Fuji for the last year, it took me a little while to figure out some of the menus, but it was pretty easy to setup. This is the best camera I have ever used! It is an amazing piece of kit (and should be for the price). A storm came through the Phoenix area, bringing badly needed rain. I went out over three days trying to test out the camera. These two images are panoramas edit in Lightroom, captured with the original version of the 100-400mm lens. Having the extra resolution opens up new possibilities as I can shoot a bit wider, but crop where needed.

Thank you, Dan! I got some better shots a couple of days ago that I will post this weekend. Here's one with a crop to show the amount of detail you can get with the RF 100-500L. I have been questioning the need for a TC as the lens is already a pretty slow lens. This crop shows there is really no need for a TC if your image is critically sharp.
One of these is a screen grab form an 8K Video, and the other is a turkey looking for love. Have some new videos being uploaded to Youtube. For the first time in a long time spent a full day in the woods. Still no bears.
Some rolling shutter effect in ES. Hard to achieve unless shooting small fast moving birds or in sports. Another reason why Canon needs to enable button switching between ES and MS!
While on a ghost tour in New Orleans yesterday, I brought along the R5 and the RF24-105mm f4 and the 16-35L mkIII f2.8. I guess I'm in my "window and door" period. I really enjoy taking a seemingly mundane sight and making them into an abstract composition. The colors and shapes of the French Quarter never cease to amaze me. Pastels, bright colors, blacks, grays, and whites all blend together to form an amazing palette. ISO 400 and 800, converted in DxO and further edited in Photoshop with some use of Nik filters. I could have spent days in the French Quarter doing this, but I only had one day to spend a little time with the R5.
