Good lord, how many tree rats does mom have stuffed in that nest? It almost looks like she built the nest out of them.
Looks like those chicks are going to have a great start in life with a successful mom like that. How many chicks are in there? 2 or 3?

While on a ghost tour in New Orleans yesterday, I brought along the R5 and the RF24-105mm f4 and the 16-35L mkIII f2.8. I guess I'm in my "window and door" period. I really enjoy taking a seemingly mundane sight and making them into an abstract composition. The colors and shapes of the French Quarter never cease to amaze me. Pastels, bright colors, blacks, grays, and whites all blend together to form an amazing palette. ISO 400 and 800, converted in DxO and further edited in Photoshop with some use of Nik filters. I could have spent days in the French Quarter doing this, but I only had one day to spend a little time with the R5. ...Show more →

Thank you, Dan! I got some better shots a couple of days ago that I will post this weekend. Here's one with a crop to show the amount of detail you can get with the RF 100-500L. I have been questioning the need for a TC as the lens is already a pretty slow lens. This crop shows there is really no need for a TC if your image is critically sharp.
The detail is mind blowing here Bobby!! So sharp!
Exquisite photography!

Got a chance to test out my new to me 2XIII TC last evening in decent light.
Yep! I think I'm going to enjoy this extra reach. Crazy nice details and I see no loss of IQ with these little critters. In good light of course.
