Took advantage of a clear moonless sky Friday evening/night, and headed to Lake Minnewanka (near Banff, Alberta) for some night sky/Milky Way photography. The core was pretty low on the horizon, so did not have very much time for Milky Way shots on this occasion. Also caught a meteor from the Draconid (?) meteor shower, and the Starlink satellites in some of my shots. Overall, I was quite pleased with the results, even though I don't have a fast wide angle lens (yet!)

Yet to peak? Beautiful photos .. hope to see more fall colors from New England
It's green as heck in the midwest - tiny traces of fall here and there, but 90% green

Thank you for your kind words. I think it is pretty much there. A lot of dark spots are evergreen trees, I think.
Some more from the same hike to the Dome Rock. I need to get thinner CPL filter. 24-70 wants to get heavy vignetting.

@saaketham, that apple shot jumped out at me. Nicely seen and processed.

Some from the 40/2, loving this lens.

40mm (above) looks really good.

Some more surfers from me + a handheld creek flow shot. 70-200 + 24-70.

Thank you. And that 40/2 does have good 3-d Pop to my eyes. Good photos.

Another great set. Love the "Taking it All In". I always wonder how people get in that treacherous water.

First surfer shot in particular is awesome.

Agree on the pop from the 40. Focus plane is pretty shallow with quick fall off, I'm really liking it can create some separation even at intermediate distances.

Preference of which you like of these better, please? I like them both for different reasons but just can't make up my mind which is best.

Pool of Siloam and Gordon Falls.

Beautiful shots. It is hard to choose one. Looking back and forth, I ‘might’ say the first one, at least for this morning, looking at it in small iPad mini monitor. . For the first shot, I like the flow of water from the waterfalls to the basin to the stream making the long one diagonal movement, while the second shot introduces a turn of flow, from left to right to the basin then water flows to the left, and it feels like I might want to see the last part of water flow a tad more on the second one. I imagine there lied the downed tree and not feasible, or foliage breaks and sky gets in,etc. Honestly, I like them both and will be happy to make big print of either of them.

P.S. Now I see the images again and the foreground on the second shot makes the strong diagonal juxtaposition. Well, I am sticking with my vote,.... for now.

Lovely photos Lance...
This will be a matter of taste. While I like the strong foreground element (old tree trunk) in image number two, I prefer the balance of image #1. I like the way the falls in image one points to the left and is balanced by the prominent white barked (or lichen covered) tree towards the middle left of the frame. It is unfortunate that there are a lot of branches in the water towards he middle of the frame, but these are not too prominent.

regards,
bruce

I like the 2nd. It “reads” left to right and you get the nice smooth water and sand etc.
