A few images from my morning wanderings. I was fortunate to get some ground fog which really helped.

Beautiful shots. It is hard to choose one. Looking back and forth, I ‘might’ say the first one, at least for this morning, looking at it in small iPad mini monitor. . For the first shot, I like the flow of water from the waterfalls to the basin to the stream making the long one diagonal movement, while the second shot introduces a turn of flow, from left to right to the basin then water flows to the left, and it feels like I might want to see the last part of water

Thank you for your kind comment and thank you for your feedback, Luka. I was leaning towards image #1 also but then I do like image #2 as well. It really is just a matter of taste.

Thank you for taking the time to look and comment.

Lovely photos Lance...
This will be a matter of taste. While I like the strong foreground element (old tree trunk) in image number two, I prefer the balance of image #1. I like the way the falls in image one points to the left and is balanced by the prominent white barked (or lichen covered) tree towards the middle left of the frame. It is unfortunate that there are a lot of branches in the water towards he middle of the frame, but these are not too prominent.

regards,
bruce

Thank you very much for you lovely comments, Bruce. Like I replied to Luka, I lean towards image #1 as well and for the reasons you give. You are correct about the branches in the middle and it probably wouldn't have actually hurt the environment, but I just generally do not like to disturb the natural environment when in the bush. Also, it also would have meant possibly leaving the a disturbed and un-natural looking area in ther foreground.

Thank you for taking the time to look and comment!

I like the 2nd. It “reads” left to right and you get the nice smooth water and sand etc.

Thank you very much for your feedback, AL.

This is exactly why I wanted people's opinions and although I leant towards image #1, how you describe image #2 was why I framed it that way. The dead branch on the left leads you into the photo, the pool, the waterfall etc. The rocks on the right give balance in the bottom right hand corner.

Anyway, it is great to get thoughts and feedback.

This pariticular waterfall, I believe was Proteus Fall, was really hidden with so many downed trees. Beautiful but it was as if refusing for picture to be taken.

Great series of reportage. Very nice color, and the cat . 14-24 looks gorgeous. I just bit the bullet and finally decided on 50/1.2. instead of 14-24. I think I will go with 14-30, as I still have 14-24G, and still liking that lens.

My plan was to get 14-24, and 50/1.8 to fill in the gap. 14-24 is a range I love to take with hiking, and 50/1.8 can accompany for hiking along with 35 and 85 1.8.. It was a rational, thought out plan until I got drown into the rendering of 50/1.2 . It is so not practical, and make much less sense, but sometimes, you got to follow your instinct. As soon as I learned Adoama had some in stock, I found myself ordering. That was yesterday. Today, it arrived.

Total random shots, but testing out to find reason to send it back, somehow, I don't think it will happen. It is an amazing lens. My revised plan, is to get 14-30 for hiking / biking along with 24-70/4, and other 1.8 prime or 58/1.4. Obviously, I am trying to rationalize the irrational. .
