I am moving over from Sony. I have the Loxia lenses now but the S primes are so good I’ve been thinking of selling the Loxia and getting the 40/1.2 for character. Hoping the Techart TZE-01 will solve Exif as well, at least for that one.

Yes, I got hooked on the Voigtlander through this thread like so many. It has quite a following here on FM, just like the Nikkor 58G, another spectacular lens I fell in love with through the image thread in this forum.
I went with the 40mm as I already own the Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 AI-S and besides really liking the rendering I saw on the thread mentioned above, I like the idea to have a lens that sits right between 35mm and 50mm, my favorite focal lengths so far.
Sorry, is it ok to discuss the gear used in an image thread? If not, just PM me and I'll remove my post, no problem!
If you're moving over from Sony, make sure to check out the Nikkor 58G thread. This lens has tons of character and the additional benefit of AF. It's my most used lens for portraits when I do paid stuff.
I did flip through it, it’s lens I read up on a while back. If the S 50/1.8 wasn’t so damn good though... its a part of the reason I switched. 35 will get a work out this weekend at a family reunion.

Great to see an image thread started. The Sony FE image thread really took off and I’d love to see a similar trend hear. As a Sony shooter I’ve been impressed by what I’ve seen so far.
Good to see you're liking the Z6 so far man, esp considering we've owned a lot of the same cameras/systems.
I have to admit, adding the bottom plate from the smallrig L-bracket has improved the ergos even more. I'm excited for what's to come in a larger body actually, or (futile fingers crossed) a battery grip..
Definitely. I spent about 2-3 hours this morning mapping out custom buttons and settings. At first I didn't like the lack of a couple more Fn buttons, but realizing I can save different control configurations for different types of shooting alleviated that.
Actually better than Sony in a lot of ways.
Still really want them to fix the Non-CPU lens data, I'll complain about that forever, but otherwise it's a great system for their first go at a FX mirrorless.

spill it.
hey, start a new thread on "setup for Z bodies"!
I had a close call with my GAS, almost picked up one of these 40mm f/1.4 Art lenses. The 50S is so good, I don't know that I would find myself grabbing the 40 over the 50. Plus I have the 50 Art as well.
How about I post here and if it's worth while I'll start another. I don't think it's too revolutionary, a lot of it is similar mode to mode, but if I'm quickly switching between family and landscapes or the like it's a good starting point. A mode (my default) and U2 are real similar, but sometimes I do crazy things, so U2 was my safety net. All the crap on the bottom is a partial list i was making to see what was assignable. I'll probably change Fn2 since its in the i menu too, and you can adjust it that way, but haven't picked a replacement yet.
This ability to change controls in U modes basically made the Z6 for me. I hated that Sony ditched the AF/MF - AEL switch on the MkIII cameras. I used Up for AF-On and Down for Focus Magnify, so focus was always in the same place. The A7III messed with my muscle memory and was a big reason I switched back to the A7RII. Now AF-On is always AF. Big Win.
Second image is what I can see ACR doing with the Picture Control settings. It's a start, but a lot of adjustments don't seem to carry into the RAWs, but still better than it used to be. Need to play with picture controls more and make a couple custom ones, especially a B&W profile.
