If that were the case we wouldn't need raw files. The ability to do custom adjustments on individual photos without loss of quality is the utility of this tool.
With that little screen on the back, it will be hard if not impossible to check various parameters...maybe an accessory would be one of those big lighted magnifying glass used in fly tying.

Now that I can have a persistent low power Bluetooth connection between my camera and my smartphone, I wish there was some standard protocol with customizable settings between mobile OS’s and cameras so they could just negotiate a wireless connection and do background file transfer from the camera to mobile device and then on to cloud. Could just happen in background at night while everything is charging at home or in a hotel with wifi. Maybe low res thumbnails (e.g. 2mb files) could transfer real time or in user initiated batches to my device while shooting, then I could review and manage what gets deleted or transferred and backed up at full res or just share the low res images online.
I’m sure that Adobe would like to be in the middle of this with their expensive app & cloud stack like w/ the Zeiss integration but I’d rather have the functionality at the mobile OS and device level and abstract away from cloud providers so I could choose my own.
I wish my camera workflow was as easy as my mobile photo workflow where everything just happens automatically.

If your 4G smartphone can be a Wifi Hotspot, that will probably be possible. The issue will be bandwidth and time to process / upload the RAW files.
Another question will be price. Will this cloud service be charged? Subscription?
Yup, agreed! It remains to be seen. They either make it easy for us or profitable for them. If the latter, I don't need to pay another subscription fee . . .

With pinch-to-zoom and panning it's far from impossible to check and evaluate the adjustments. It's relatively easy in fact.

Nikon's SnapBridge attempted this solution but the implementation is a bit lacking. I believe it'll happen eventually.

Do you think a little tiny spyder will be developed for calibration?

What percentage of photographers who post-process their images do you believe use end-to-end color-calibrated workflows? And keep in mind the edits inside the camera aren't necessarily meant to be final work - they're a way to perform adjustments for quick sharing.

All kidding aside, it could be very useful for dodging and burning exposure problems.

Any word on the subscription pricing?
Seems to me if someone already has a subscription to LR CC they might be good to go by adding credentials to the camera and then buy up into the larger LR CC space subscriptions from there if needed ( just guessing), This is how it works on my mobile devices.

It looks like the ZX1's price will only be released next year:
"The ZEISS ZX1 will be available at selected dealers in early 2019. ZEISS will announce the recommended retail price at the start of the official market launch. Starting now, anyone interested in receiving information on exact availability can register at www.zeiss.com/zx1."

Dave, I think this may work how it currently does with the A7/A9 series and the Lightroom CC Mobile app.
You don't need a subscription in order to edit your images but if you want to upload it to the cloud, there will be a charge.
With my A7RIII, I can take a picture, press a custom button in playback mode and send the image to my phone. The Lightroom CC mobile app is free and can be used to edit the image. Once I am done post-processing it, the resulting image can be saved or shared elsewhere.
The issue is that the image format sent to my phone is the original jpeg instead of RAW. Therefore it will be an advantage editing the original RAW in camera (ZX1). Having said that, if the final output is Instagram or Facebook, I don't think RAW vs Jpeg may be crucial.
