Integrated 512Gb internal memory and Lightroom into a tiny full frame camera? This is a great idea! No doubt about Zeiss quality but the shape of the camera looks interesting. I'm not sure if I like it. Sony RX1 series and Leica Q now have a real competitor.
Which one is better? Distagon 35/2 (ZX1) or Sonnar 35/2 (RX1) ??

Definitely not an RX1 clone. Looks pretty big, hefty, and with Lightroom and the SSD I’m sure it’ll be pricey. Also looks like there are less controls on the back than the RX1

Everything about this camera is strange, from the decision to make it right up to the final product... Kudos to them for pushing the boundaries though...

I really like the size of my RX1Rii.
With the ZX1 it seems like we have the disadvantages of a fixed lens camera (i.e., can't change lenses -duh), without the advantage of a smaller size than interchangeable lens cameras.

The fact focus selection is by touch screen only is a big fail for me. I’ll be sticking with my rx1rii (not that I was hoping to switch to this anyway)

Now this looks like a modern 2018 camera to me. With these specs ( actual performance TBD), clearly somebody at Zeiss understands what it's going to take to get the mobile phone/social media generation to buy up from their increasingly capable camera phones. I'm still swooning over the 512GB internal storage an onboard image editing. Got to say it again...Zeiss, Zeiss Baby !
