I'm happy too see some innovation with the build in SSD and software (android based OS?), but....
it feels like now they're never going to release that compact Zeiss 35/2 lens on Sony E-mount.
By the way, according to SAR sources its build by Sony. What are the odds we would find the build in SSD and/or software in the new A7Siii? The CEO did say they would like to exceed expectations of customers, so maybe something crazy like this?

800 grams is 25 grams more than a A7rIII and 35 2.8 ZA OK why would I want this?
I can do much more much faster sans share and edit on a screen smaller than my smartphone. I can only see the results of major adjustments but not fine tune the images on the Zeiss so it is not for finished products or images.
It is interesting but why the need for 37MP and such a good lens to share and half ass edit?
Zeiss ZX1 larger than my a7rIII 5.59 5.6 x 3.66 x 2.6 28.22 oz vs 5.0 x 3.8 x 2.6 for A7RIII w/35 2.8 Sonnar at 27.73 oz
less MP
AF or Eye-Focus cannot possibly be as good
It is a non starter for me but I applaud Zeiss for bringing it to maker but unless the camera is under $2,000 why would you buy it unless you are a social media nut but an iPhone xsMAX does a pretty admirable job in that deptartment.
Time for Sony to release the real successor to the RX1R III but I doubt we will see it until they do the A9r or A7rIV if they are going to put a higher resolution sensor in it.

This is one of those cameras where I will reserve judgment until I can try it for myself. It's definitely different. Could go either way from there. I can definitely appreciate the attempt. It's interesting.

Neat to see Zeiss pushing forward, but I think I’ll be waiting for an RX1 successor. I am perfectly happy with the RX1 sonnar—I’ll would just like a better battery, a joystick, ibis and improved AF mostly.
Having said that, the ergo looks terrible, it has a smooth textureless Batis-like focus ring, and its pretty large and somewhat heavy. I don’t need/want to do editing on an LCD. I also don’t care about the wireless connectivity—having said that, I don’t really use social media, so I am biased.

I have to say that I am pretty interested in checking this camera, specially the grip. It looks very sharp. Also I hope those parts in the lens are not rubberized.
Having said that to me this is a hell of a camera. I am a big fan of 35mm, plenty of storage inside, leaf shutter and integrated evf. BAM! I was a big fan of the RX1 and this seems like a nice evolution.
I think it's 2.073.600 million dot EVF and that's why I said nothing too special
Where are you getting 2 million dots? 1920x1080 pixels corresponds to 6.2 million dots. 2 million dots would correspond to something like 1024x768. Also, the EVF magnification is 0.74x, not 0.7x.

Edit: the LCD is 4,34" and has 921.600 dots = 2,7m pixel, special too...
battery has 3190mAh (compared to 1240mAh from the RX1rII and 2280mAh from the A7rIII), which seems rather good.

0,7" is the size of the EVF haven't talked about magnification
I don't know how you are calculating 6,2 million, but there is no viewfinder with this kind of resolution.

This is probably the kind of camera that is very fun to play with, but could leave you feeling limited when out and shooting under less than ideal conditions. It does make Canon’s intro to a full frame mirrorless look pretty unimaginative and meh, doesn’t it?

The most innovative aspect of this camera is Zeiss' attempt to blur the lines between phone and camera but from a photographer's perspective. It's not a phone with a camera built in but a camera with camera phone features. Smart! LCD with controls, internal memory and no SD cards, Lightroom mobile. The latter will make sharing and uploading to desktop seamless. 35/2 Distagon is nearly perfect. 37 MP is ideal. I'm very intrigued . . .

I think it's a cool design, and different, which I can appreciate. Price though...they have to know an RX1RII is going to compete directly with this thing, built-in Lightroom or not.
