Don't know if anyone discussed this - but good to know that the AC power adapter can be used to power up the camera! So we don't have to worry about battery running out in certain cases!

I believe that if you're on the subscription plan and have the latest version installed it will work, that's what I've read anyway.
I'm not on the subscription plan and have been slowly transitioning to Capture One Pro. Starting to like that more and more over LR, but no support for the Z7 yet.

I have been using LR for 10 years
I feel that C1 is a lot better overall.
But when I go to edit a batch, I feel like I'm in quick sand using C1.
It's going to take a long time!

can you comment on the evf when compared with the sony r3 / 3?
I'm anticipating a little better quality from nikon.

It took me a few shoots to get use to C1 and getting use to it's batch processing, I'm assuming you're referring to 'syncing' of settings(exposure for example). The 'process' aka exporting in C1 is interesting and I have yet to get it the way I want it.
I'd like to see the C1 come out with a z7 profile, they released 11.3 for the fuji bodies as well as the sony rx100 vi and a few other bodies.
I may have to convert to DNG in the meantime, assuming I get the z7 before C1 has an update

I really like the default colors and pop I get with C1. Requires less work than LR. Otherwise it'll require reteaching yourself a new workflow process as some things do work differently.
The Auto exposure and Auto levels function is usually a good starting point, and then edit to taste from there.
And otherwise I'm strongly opposed to the idea of *renting* software. I want to pay for it and use it in perpetuity until I'm ready to upgrade to a new version. So that's why I've started transitioning away from Lightroom and if I do get Z7 or Z6, I'll completely move away from LR as the version I currently have (LR 6) is no longer being updated.

I haver two Z7s en route to me, both with 24-70s and FTZ adaptors and only need one.
I can return the extra one or pass it on here - no mark up, but with no profit I can afford zero risk so it has to be rock solid deal with a rock solid member.

I'm picking up my Z7 and the 24-70 and FTZ adapter tomorrow from Allen's Camera.
Decided to trade in my D850 and my 70-200. I love those two, but lately I'm tired of the weight. Plus I'm recovering from foot surgery, so the less strain on my leg is the better.
I still have my 28, 105 macro and Tamron 45. So I will be pleased.

This is probably not a surprise to most of y'all, but I setup the 35s custom ring for exposure compensation and found that quite handy. I normally shoot manual but this may change the mode I shoot in.

Well... I placed a pre-order for the Z6+24-70+FTZ with Adorama. Figure I should probably join the pre-order queue. And hopefully I can try out a Z7 in person in a store somewhere, though I just called a local store and they said the Z7 has been flying off their shelves (though admittedly, it's only been a day).
And if the reviews disappoint, I'll just cancel it.

Good luck! Let us know how that Tamron 45 behaves on the Z7/FTZ.
So far I have not heard any success stories with the FTZ and Tamron lenses.

I am having to exercise some serious self restraint right now - I have a sealed shipping box below my desk with a Z7 and 24-70 in it. This is the one that I will either return or sell. The one from my local dealer is the one I plan to keep for myself, but it won't be here until Monday!

Yes I was surprised too Lr is on subscription so it is the latest version. Just the profiles you need to adjust to suit. I also have C1 Pro which for volume work I find slows me down and not as intuitive. The latest version of Lr is very different compared to 2 or 3 versions before. The sharpening is set at a different default and the color profiles for Adobe Color are excellent for most images. For Nikon NEF images the latest version of Lr is great! Whereas for Fuji XTrans files I needed intermediary process steps.
If you are after the best color profiles, Capture NX-D is superb.

The EVF is superb and much better than the A7rII which is the same as the A7III. I have tested both the A7rIII and A9, I definitely prefer the Z7 EVF. It is very well executed and you don't notice it is an EVF.
In terms of grabbing fast dynamic shots the D850 is ahead in terms of ergonomics, dynamic AF, speed of operation and this is comparing to Fuji XT2, Sony A7rII, A7rIII ( tested), A7III (tested) and Z7. I suspect the A9 (also tested) is on par but I am not only referring to the dynamic AF speed but operation speed of capturing images. There are many other reasons for MILC that are better suited so this is where I feel both the D850 and Z7 are very complementary.
