The EVF is superb and much better than the A7rII which is the same as the A7III. I have tested both the A7rIII and A9, I definitely prefer the Z7 EVF. It is very well executed and you don't notice it is an EVF.
In terms of grabbing fast dynamic shots the D850 is ahead in terms of ergonomics, dynamic AF, speed of operation and this is comparing to Fuji XT2, Sony A7rII, A7rIII ( testing), A7III (testing) and Z7. I suspect the A9 (also tested) is on par but I am not only referring to the dynamic AF speed but operation speed of capturing images. There are many other reasons for MILC that are better suited so this is where I feel both the D850 and Z7 are very complementary.
