It was great meeting everyone today!!!! I have heard so much about you guys from the stories my dad has told me, so it was great to finally put faces with the stories!! I know you all were glad to know that Greg's awesome, amazing, beautiful (and the list just goes on and on) daughter is in fact real, and all those WONDERFUL things you've heard about me are true!!! :-p hehe. Anyways, just wanted to let everyone know that I had a blast, despite the rain and the cold! I can't wait to see everyone's shots!!!!
Well once again another super outing with the Atlanta Group. It was nice to spend some time with everyone, even with the cold and rain. Also my pleasure to meet Robin.........I hope you'll be joining us more.
It's always great seeing both familiar faces and meeting so many more of you guys.. I was impressed with the turnout despite the inclement weather. Hope you're feeling better Gary. Here a couple of my shotts:
Well, it was a ton of fun. Nancy & I learned a lot and had a blast. Added a couple of new faces to the group. It was really fun watching a bunch of different folks take pictures of the same things with tons of different equipment resulting in many different shots.
Thanks to everyone for all of the help. It is baby step by baby step for me but at least I am moving downhill!
In case you didnn't notice the huge grin: I LOVE MY NEW TRIPOD, BALLHEAD, AND PLATES!
You guys that have already stuck images up; good job!
Wow Great Series. Wish I could have made it but I was just going to bed when you guys were meeting. Next time I'll have to take a nap ahead of time and meet up.
Hi guys. I feel like I was there seeing all of your great shots!
Todd...I love the flamingos!
Gary...The panda is awesome!
Brittany...That is hilarious that the panda was waving! I am a sucker for kid shots...you caught a great one!
Mark...I ended up getting a new tripod, ballhead and arca-plates after the first time I hung out with these guys, too! What did you get?
What a great group of FM members in the Atlanta area. Gary, Greg, John, Mark, Robin, Todd, Britany, Cindy and Nancy and myself all got together on a cold damp day at the Zoo to have a great time.
Britany I absolutely love the shot of the little girl. It would be great if her father could see this. I know he would love to have it. Please post this on the People forum and see what comments you get. Your shots of the Tiger and panda are great as well. Great pictures from Gary and Todd also. Mark, Hope you enjoyed using your new tripod and had a great time at the Christmas Party. It was great seeing you and Nancy again.
Chris. Make note to self --- !!!! Check this Forum often !!!!. Love to have you join in next time.
Tracey...sorry you couldn't make it out to the zoo with us! I would loved to have met you...guess it will just have to wait for another time!!! Looks like we got something in common when it comes to liking kid shots!!!
Chris....would like to have you out with us one day...or more!!
Grant...it was great meeting you and you got some good shots!!
Grant, I love your Kori Bustard, and I think Gary's panda is great too, but I think Britany's shot of that child is the winner for photo of the day. Nice job!
Tracey, sorry you weren't there. I was looking forward to seeing you again!
Grant....just wanted to thank you for suggesting that I post my image on the people forum...I sucked it up and did it! It has been nothing but positive feedback. I was starting to get down about my photography because I wasn't getting anything "amazing" like I remember I used to be able to get...but I think it is just because I have been shooting animals..instead of kids, and kids is definitely my strong point. Its refreshing to know I haven't lost it!
Hey!...Do you folks realize what happened last Saturday? Ten of us all passed up warmer, drier activities to put ourselves at the mercies of whimsical weather.com, and thus ended up dodging raindrops and wondering how much IS compensates for shivering. Either there's a *LOT* of love of photography and comraderie going on here...or we're all *NUTS*!
I, for one, choose to believe the former. I am *so* proud to be associated with such a fine assortment of folks...Maybe a li'l crazy at times, too....But, wow, what a love of photography, and what fun to be around!
Great images from everyone! The weather may have presented some challenges, but all of you have produced some outstanding images. I'm hoping to see more.
I want to share one image with you now that's not my own. As most of you know, Cindy is just getting into DSLR photography. Saturday was her first "shoot", and this image was taken with her new lens, the 28-135:
As I sorted my own images, I found that I kept gravitating to those of just one subject: Farasi. He has so many expressions....gave us so much to capture on Saturday. So....at the risk of boring you with images of only one subject, here are three images of Farasi:
