Advanced Topics in Digital Photography: Getting the Most from Your DSLR Camera
Saturday, April 16, 2005
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This workshop is designed for the experienced digital photographer who has recently upgraded to a DSLR camera (or is seriously considering purchasing a DSLR). Much of the content presented in Intermediate Topics in Digital Photography: Taking your Photography to the Next Level (March 5) will be repeated in this workshop, but the emphasis will be on application to the DSLR cameras. This workshop will help the participant take more control over the camera by learning to use the more advanced features such as aperture priority, shutter priority, exposure compensation, various metering modes, various focusing modes, etc.
Fee: $35.00
The workshop fee includes entrance and for another $5 they include lunch!
If you get a group together to go that day and aren't taking the worksthop ....hopefully I can meet some of you folks and shoot with you all another time.
Looks as if we have a bit of interest in a Callaway Garden field trip. Since Todd and others will be attending a workshop on April 16th, I was thinking about Sunday the 17th. This would give those in the work shop a chance to join in.
Callaway field trip on Sunday April 17th
Those interested in riding together, my membership will allow up to five guest in one vehicle, anyone have a van? Those local in Atlanta or traveling to Atlanta, there is a good meeting place at the State Farmers Market. A very nice restaurant on site with plenty of parking and good security as well. The sooner we have a list of those wanting to attend, the better.
I sure wish I could be there with you guys for this one. Callaway should be just awesome this weekend. I am going to be in CA this coming weekend and hoping to take a lot of pics in the wine country. Maybe I will be able to make the next one.
Great..........thanks for offering your LIMO!! That leaves three spots open for the free addmission. Those that would like to meet us at Callaway chime in also. I have several maps that I can scan and forward to you, they open at 9am.
I would suggest meeting at 7:30am, this would give us time to eat breakfast and be there when the gates open.
Gary
Jeff.....sorry you can't make it, I wish I were the one shooting the California coast!!

I understand completely..........I'm booked every weekend starting April 30th through the end of May.
One other thought guys.........Georgia Renaissance Festival! It starts April 16th......So maybe the weekend of April 23rd. I shot there last year for fun, got a paying gig the next weekend for one of the dance troups.
Those who are planning to attend the April 17th Callaway Gardens trip, chime in!!
Well darn it! I won't be able to make that one, I have my daughters first communion Sunday, and practice on saturday, so I'll have to sit this one out. Tis the season though, so hopefully I can catch one soon!
Unfortunately, I won't be able to stay down in Callaway on Sunday the 17th. I'm really looking forward to being down there on Saturday though.
Hopefully, I can hook up with you all the next go round.
Just want to let other folks that may be interested know that the Callaway workshop was really great. I think that folks at all experience levels can benefit. I'm going back in June for a macro/butterfly workshop. The instructor, Jim Henderson, is very knowledgable, a good speaker and a nice guy! I believe this workshop is already sold old but he promised there would be others. Check out Callaway's web site if you're interested.
Glad to here you had a good time, we need some images!! Aaron and myself were there Saturday as well, could not have asked for a nicer day. We both got to try out our macro abilities at the Day Butterfly House. As well as catching a couple of the birds of prey shows.
Next weekend the Tour de Georgia bike race, I'm really looking forward to this!
At this time I have no concrete plans for the race. My first thought was to shoot the finish in Alpharetta and the six circuit laps that follow the race on Sunday. AaronL and UGADawg are shooting both Saturday and Sunday, if their plans haven't changed.
This will be my first bike race and since it will be Lance's last race in Georgia, I'm looking to add Saturday to my shooting as well. Still looking at the course they'll be taking Saturday for a place to shoot. I'll keep you posted once I have a game plan, open to all suggestions.
