I haven't worn a watch since 1973. We had no smartphones then, just dial phones.
It used to be considered rude to check a phone in a meeting, but now is commonplace.

I can recall how annoying it would be to have a meeting with someone in their office, and have their (wired type) phone ring and have them leave you sitting there while they actually took the call and carried on a conversation just as if you were not there, and they did that in the middle of an appointment they already had. I actually got to the point where I would wait about 3 minutes, then interrupt them and tell them I was going to have to leave to get to my next apt and walk out with their mouth open. I also would not work them back into my schedule for months, maybe longer.
It's a million times more common place now and not just in business, everyone is doing it, and I still think it's rude and shows no respect for the other person's time and presence.
I love my smartphone, but there are times I think they should be left in your purse or pocket.
To me a watch is not just a timepiece. It's what makes me complete. When i leave home without one of my watches, i feel naked. And i don't like digital/smartwatches. I'll leave that to the 'cool' people
I want a watch that is not digital and has 24-hour system rather than just 12-hour, this will make a statement, or no problem to go with this 12-hour but with am/pm corner too, i am so lazy to check if it is am or pm outdoors or out of my room and windows.
With 1DX II, i would like it to have almost similar specifications of Samsung NX1 with slight improvement, better DR and better AF than 1DX/5D3/7DII, NX1 has 15fps and 28mp, if this new 1DX has not more than 24mp and no more than 14fps even if it has incredible AF and nice DR i wouldn't get it, my 1DX is really amazing now, the only thing that i want improvement with my 1DX is more mp for crops, i crop a lot so more mp is always a welcome over better high ISO or DR, for me in sports more mp serving me more than high ISO which is already amazing or better DR.

If I shot more daytime outdoor sports I would agree but a lot of games seem to be shifting to night and it's not just the school I cover. Combined with less then pro stadium lighting whether indoors or out and I'm hoping Canon can up the ante on high ISO. I do agree that the 1DX is still amazing for a 3+ year old body. For me to upgrade and spend $7000+ I would have to see at least a stop or more (closer to 1.5 stops ideally) better high ISO.
Low ISO DR is not a huge priority for me for sports. If that feature worked better for skintones I might change my mind but so far I have seen nothing that looks really good. The place I need that is for daytime games at noon with harsh shadows and I want to boost faces under helmets or visors.

The anti-flicker tech in the 7D2 is really nice with the cycling lights I have to deal with. If the current 1Dx had that I wouldn't be in any hurry to upgrade to a 1Dx2. Upping the resolution to 24mp would help too.
