Another group of lenses that I decided to try out on the A7,were some of my Pentaxes series M.They prooved to be very good performers and I can recommend the whole batch with no doubts.Their small size, sharpness and solid built make them similar to Oly Zuikos, though rendering style is different (more vivid colours and higher microcontrast).
Macro 50/4 - sharp across the frame wo,excellent stopped down
Macro 100/4 - perfectly usable wo,excellent from f5.6
24/2.8 - probably the weakest of the group, but good to very good at f8
28/2.8 - very good at f8 - the 28/3.5 is slightly better
35/2.8 - excellent from f5.6
50/1.4-sharp across the frame at f2.8
50/1.7-as above
100/2.8 - very sharp at f5.6,CA gone at f4
135/3.5 -sharp at f5.6.Below CA could be an issue in contrasty lighting

Local cyclist have to watch out for these inexperienced city bikers
What? Helmets in the Netherlands I've never seen that before . . .
I decided to use my A7R to shoot a live dance concert in order to test the continuous auto-focus. Obviously this is an environment in which I would not expect the A7R to excel. I could not fire the shutter as fast as I would have liked, and the small wait while the EVF resets itself is a bit annoying. But for me, at least, the experience was not as bad as I was anticipating.
All these were shot with the Sony/Zeiss 24-70. I found that, when changing the zoom, sometimes the lens would start to hunt and I'd have to wait for AF to be reestablished. So with certain regularity I was getting out of focus images. However, to my surprise, the continuous AF worked really well and (except when changing zoom) I was getting in focus shots almost all the time.
The lighting was horrible in this venue. I shot shutter priority, 320th of a second, ISO 1600. Some of these were cropped quite a bit. Vignetting is mine.
I should mention that the shutter sound did draw attention. Luckily it was a very open room, with generally loud music. I would never want to use it in a quiet environment.
^ Excellent results and I greatly appreciate your experiences along with the images. Sometimes, I think we need more description of our experiences when posting. Thanks!
