Phillip, congratulations regarding A7! I'm too considering this model... Maybe rename the thread to "A7(R) HD Images Thread"?

Phillip,

I created this thread for the A7 and A7r Images (as well as discussion) days ago:

https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1254260

I think this should be merged into the existing thread.

Rich

Very inspiring images, hopefully there won't be many days until I can contribute with images in this thread and others. The way I see it, this thread is not in conflict with the other "A7(r) images and discussion thread". Here I expect to find photographs made for their own sake, not test images, not full size images, nor much discussion. Purely a photo presenetation. Sorry about cluttering this thread with my own opinion.

I had never intended the original thread to include test images. Others posted them.

Gents,
I think what we need are 2 image threads. One for RF lens and one for SLR lens. They are really 2 distinct and different applications.

Great thread. Phillip any chance you can post a few comparison shots with A7 vs A7R just to see if there are any difference in micro contrast or colors with the same lens (think macro effects not pixel peeping which is for the other threads)?

Perhaps, but this thread has photos from an actual FM member with very nice samples, not Flickr links to endless crappy images.

Some of the images in the original thread also were from FM members that already owned the cameras,

Nice start Phillip. +1 @ deer, diggin' the tones of the first two.

Well, I figure that with the upcoming 1,000,000 or so images that are going to be shot with this camera, I think we can support two threads at the start. Personally, I prefer seeing a collection of our own home grown, so double post in both is fine by me if a person feels so compelled. Much easier to know "info" and perspective/objective about the image when shot from our own members.

Bottom line ... "Bring on the pics."

Great shots, how do you feel the new sensor compares to the NEX sensor in terms of color?

Hey Charlie, APS-C is all anyone needs. No advantages to going bigger, right?

Phillip, thanks for the images! How are you finding the handling of lenses like the 80-200 or even the Sigma 24 on the camera?
