Welcome back Joshua! I think I can say, you missed us
Impatient to see your work...
Manuel
Hi Manuel,
Thank you! Yes, I missed you guys on that trip alright but the internet connection was only so so even at the fastest spots. The thread has tons of images (duh!) and there were times the pages simply didn't load at all.
Except for Greece, the trip was mostly a guide tour and it wasn't photographically oriented although I managed to do OK at various occasions. I will start posting selected images later as I am still working on them as we speak. Here is a teaser captured in Torremolinos, Casta del Sol.
dasrocket, Bob, Philipe, Dale, pinholecam, Luvwine, jviegas, Charles and of course Joshua ... great works guys, it is a real pleasure to visit every day (more times a day) this fantastic place!
After some days with the FE 90 Macro my feeling is that it is a "Monster" lens... I wish to see the results on Ronny hands
Manuel
Edit: I forgot René, Michiel, Ronny, Werner and for sure someone else but it was implied
I read a few great reviews even before I left. Although I was not planning of buying that lens originally but now I am considering it. Not a bad lens for portraits either although it is on the slow side.
xwing, nice contrasty b&w images.
dasrocket, nice work with that samyang 85 1.4. Might be a good and cheaper option for this focal length. Any thought you have on this lens?
A7R II with Canon FD 85mm f/1.8 wide open. I have a Batis 85/1.8 coming tomorrow for review...and I'm sure it'll be better than this, but man, the FD 85 is really a strong performer considering its age and price.

I have the Nikon mount, version II I believe. It's a bit heavy on the A7, but it balances very well when the battery grip is on the body.
Solid construction, super sharp and has a very close MFD. I have been pleasantly surprised with all my Samyangs so far, and this is not an exception.
