Nice. Love that 85.
I look forward to the 35 because I have no experience with that. But yeah, the 85 is a very nice lens and I might keep it.

Picked up two zooms for really cheap to play with, total for both about $80. FDn 35-70/4 and FDn 28-85/4 (would have been nicer if it were 24-85). Both nice and sharp, even on the edges and in the corners on an A7R2.

The plain MD 135f2.8 is very good lens either. Also small and lightweight.
I fear it is the Rokkor MD which I already own. It is a decent lens, but I find the CA quite bothersome and it is a bit heavy so the much lighte plain MD would be nice to own

The 35-70mm f4 is awesome, really quite sharp and one of the better zooms I've used. Just a shame 70mm isn't as good as the other settings, it seems to lack contrast overall

I learned my lesson with the Sigma 35 f1.4 some 3(?) years ago. That lens unleashed the p;olar vortex upon us for years. Never again will I purchase another lens. I did buy a tammy 150-600 but it remains hidden lest the weather gawds unleash more winter upon us.

If its the plain MD,then it should have 5/5 lenses and different IQ (slightly less sharp in the centre, more even sharpness across the frame, less crisp overall, less CA overall),unlike the MD Rokkors MK 1/2 with 4/4 lensers.I say it beacuse being lazy, I take the plain MD 135/2.8-5/5 or 135/3.5-5/5, just because of their lightness and good/very good overall IQ,when I'm back packing for a walk/short trip.
CA with my "regular APO" 4/4 late MCs and early MDs 135/2.8 Minoltas MD are bearable and very easily removable in the PP.
But what is the most important and everlasting, all those lenses serve superbly to photograph DUCKS,No matter the PP!.

Canon FDn 28-85/4. Been putting it through the tests before I commit to keeping it, but so far it looks really good on my A7R2. Very sharp, even when peeping at 1:2 and 1:1 in LR6, very good at all focal lengths Simple test shot taken earlier near my pond:

SMC Pentax M 20/4 - overall IQ similar to the 21/4.0 Rolleinar/Mamiya,but smaller and lighter
Olympus OM Zuiko 180/2.8 - sharp/very sharp, but behaves like the Canon FD SSC/Canon nFD1 200/2.8 - lots of blue fringing in the contrasty lighting, easily removable in the PP.Little to no CA in the field.
Olympus OM Zuiko 200/4 E - my first .So far I used to have only 2x 200/5.0 Zuikos.Anyways a very good buy.
Nikkor 24/2.8 AIS - sharper in the edges than my Canons/Konikas/Zuikos 24/2.8 at any aperture. That's why I took it.

That is interesting. Maybe my copy of the Rolleinar 21 was rubbish, but I think the Pentax-M 20/4 is much better. Actually I think for its small size it is a very, very good lens.

I recently sold my Oly 21/3.5 + Leitax because I prefer the SMCP-M 20/4. The Oly has slightly better extreme edges and corners, but the SMCP-M is noticeably sharper in Zones A, B and most of C, which is better for how I most often use this lens.

I got to play with a friend's EF 400/5.6L and 1.4x III on my rII yesterday, and that pretty much sealed the deal on me giving up my 500/8 cat as a walk-around tele solution. 1.25kg, fantastic manual focus response, sharp enough wide open that the only reason to stop down is to increase DoF, IQ takes no discernible hits with the extender, and plays well with both the Sony sensor and SteadyShot. It's probably the perfect super tele for the a7's, particularly if you don't want to use any kind of support. And it's not hard to find a good deal on a new or used one, so I've got a used one on the way.
A good deal on the extender is going to take a bit more patience.

Sony 70-400mm G Version I.
Thanks to Version II and the ugly silver color, this lens sells for bargain prices, I'm very curious to try it out with the LA-EA3 on my A7II.
Thank you for the suggestion, Werner Utsch I can sleep better with an appropriate alternative to the Contax 100-300 which I was searching for more than one year and which is even more expensive than the Sony lens with the adapter.

Well, 21/4.0 Rolleinar isn't stellar.I could never get sharp corners, though it is not very obtrusive in the field.I hope that my copy of Pentax 20/4. isn't a lemon .No I don't think so.By f11 corners are sharp.

Having refrained from scratching the lens itch for what felt like an eternity, suddenly this kit appeared on the Swedish Craigslist equivalent: An offer I couldn't refuse... by scepticswe, on Flickr
105/2.8 micro-Nikkor, 80-200/4.5, 500/8 Reflex-Nikkor, 28/3.5 and a 50/1.4 (along with three bodies and various accessories)
Here's the kicker; I paid 165 USD for all of it (full asking price, I might add)

Finally got lucky in my quest for a good Canon nFD 35-105/3.5 zoom. Went through three not-so-good copies before taking a chance on a fourth...this one's a keeper.

Canon nFD 100/2.0 - very good wo,excellent stopped down 1-2f stops.
Canon nFD 100/2.8 - I have 2x FD SSC 100/2.8 and one FD 100/2.8 Chrome nose, but that nFD 100/2.8 is the first.A hidden gem. It's merits come to their own after very little PP.
Olympus OM Zuiko 28/2.8 MC - the second copy.Nice little OM Zuiko lens.
