Must be that same great one day of sun we had as well James. Oh well, back to the clouds now. They called it a sunny weekend on Thursday, not seen that yellow ball yet and it's almost 4pm.

Here is my contribution to keep things moving, consisting of some landscapes as viewed from the top of Mount Benson in 2017. These were taken with my D800E and (as far as I can recall) the 105 f/2.5 P, 35 f/1.4 N and the 55 f/1.2 SC, respectively.
Glen, some of my favorites yet from you . What a beautiful location you live in.

Gorgeous light indeed.
I am interested to know what is being manufactured in these buildings.

Colin, first shot is of a bio-ethanol plant, with 90 million gallon annual capacity listed. Second shot, Leighton just about called it below. It's an IAMS dog/cat food facility.
Colin,
Really effective way to show motion - looks great.
Wanted to ask about the 50mm Nikkor H.C. and the Nikkor H. Seems I have one (the HC) coming here attached to a film camera that I wanted to use to shoot some unexposed film I found cleaning my desk. Is there much difference between the two?

The taxi from Innsbruck to St.Anton took in a few tunnels.

Jim, I believe the HC is a newer version, and the "C" stands for a multi-Coating that had not been on the older lens.
For this evening's image post, here are a few monochrome images for the first two of which I got a bit creative with the software. They were shot with the Fuji X-E2 that was both my first mirrorless camera, and the one I used for all the photos I took while my wife and I were driving across Canada when we moved to Vancouver Island. The first of those photos was shot in Sault Ste. Marie, and the second was shot in Sudbury, and both were taken with a 24 f/2.8 that was either the NC or the Ai-s version. The third photo was shot with my D800E and the 135 f/2.8 QC (I think) at the sand sculpture show at Parksville beach in the same year. Like all the old photos I've been posting lately, these have not been posted previously.
I was in Paradise this last 2 days off (area north of Glenorchy, LoTR locations etc.)
I stopped to take a pic of the view and when I turned around saw this magnificent beast chilling under a tree. These trees are a feature in numerous scenes in LoTR, a wizened stunted thing that is a mass of thorns that at times looks quite dead but isn't.
I whipped out the 200/2 and stuck it on the GFX but had to stop down a little as it was bright sunshine and I was hitting the Fuji's 1/4000 sec ceiling. f4 I think.
I'm gonna say a Hereford breed and like to think it's a bull so titled "King of the Mountain" (can you confirm Leighton ?)
Not much difference in performance that I can see. The coatings are different.
I had thought that the H version, with older coatings, would be better for IR work but in using the two I can't tell the difference.
Having said that I do tend toward the HC for both color and IR since that is the one I took apart and cleaned up the glass.
I had planned to do a side-by-side comparison but don't think I ever did.

You had me thinking this first was a print from a bygone era - until I saw the Hyundai shipping container.

Medici marble lions, there are two which were acquired as ornaments to their villa. They were moved to the current location at Loggia dei Lanzi in1789. The one pictured was completed in1598, the second dates to the second century.
Michelangelo's David was at this spot between 1504 -1873 when it was moved to The Accademia Gallery, super long lines. The duplicate was unveiled in 1910 and was recently renovated.
Frosty Whiskers. A heavy frost last night coated everything including this white pine branch. Taken with the 55 f3.5 Ai'd handheld. Thanks for looking.

Love it Scott. It's also nice how you framed it with the pine nuts(?) in upper 3rd of the frame.
Thanks Colin, & Glen. The copy on this camera looks brand new, and was near the end of it's production run with a late serial number. However, it doesn't look to be converted to ai - so the film body will likely be the only camera body I can use it. Boy, had some sticker shock looking at film bodies. Back around 2003-2005 when I sold most of my film gear - you could hardly get anything for the vintage/analog cameras. Just thought it would be fun to go old school for a few frames. Though I have enlargers, trays, ancient chemistry etc - I intend to just soup the film, and scan the negatives. The unmixed chemistry is decades out of date, and it could all turn out to be a big nothing. However, I'm game to try.

Amazing photo of a cow! The setting, the pose, that tree on the left side - magic!
