The y-strap is something I'm going to actually build myself, I got the idea from blackrapid, er whatever it's called.
Thanks for the heads-up though! Gives me something to consider when constructing my own.
i own the blackrapid rs7 (for my 7d) - but I think i'm going to return it for the optek, the tripod mount on a dslr with a heavier lens doesn't strike me as all that stable, better to use the strap lugs probably.. also annoying that the camera can't be set down properly with it screwed in.
That said, the concept is fantastic.. and I love how fast and comfortable it is.
@singletrack - thanks for sharing, hope you are enjoying your camera!
singletrack - Nice shots, looks like Japan, I haven't been in a while..
Ok, 50 ZM is now officially in my hands... Will make some shots with it soon.
Oh, noticed that with this copy the focusing ring is quite stiff, does it loosen up a bit over time?
Charles - Yeah, I'm definitely going to make one, see how it works out. Nice shots of a neat looking dude.
Charles, I think that originated from a user on luf, and Steve then confirmed. There's a thread there from someone who used it at an academy event. Rp said 4-6 weeks, about 2-3 weeks ago. It's why I'm waiting to make any decisions.
You'll see I generally get nothing but yelled at in that forum...when trying to be objective, I like this thread more..it's more honest and not a fawnfest for leica.
Nice portraits Charles! You're really tempting me with the 75 Lux! I better stay away from the forums till after X'mas.... and thanks for the earlier comments
Adam, the ZM 50/2 Planar focusing ring should not be stifff. But then I have had only one copy of this lens. Looking forward to your shots with the new 50 Planar
Let us know how the A strap comes out
Edward, my understanding is if the X1 is updated as per what they are suggesting, the X1 becomes a very good camera. You can write directly to Leica, and they would normally confirm this is if this true.
Joe, yes the 75 Lux is very tempting !!! It is a brilliant lens. Last two days, I was trying to illustrate the renderings at varying f/stops.
