Nothing wrong with the exif. The camera will guess your aperture based on a small light sensor near the red dot. However, most of the time the guess is inaccurate. The shutter speed and iso are correct. Based on the exposure in your photos, I see nothing wrong.

Interesting, thanks. If the camera doesn't know what the aperture is from the lens, how do the auto shutter speed and ISO work?

The meter doesn't need to know the aperture value to calculate the correct exposure. The meter measures the light reflected from the shutter curtains and decides which shutter speed to use in order to obtain a neutral middle grey exposure, at base iso. If the shutter speed is below the minimum speed you have assigned in the auto iso settings, the camera will bump the iso until it reaches the minimum value.

Most of us only shoot with one body, so we know by now who has what. And often the body is obvious, as in your shot, and I think in many of mine, as I edit very little if possible, and M9 has signature.
But we love to know lens, and since the glass can vary greatly with aperture, I'd LIKE TO KNOW THE APERTURE
PS if the shot is a link from Flickr, like mine an Edward's, clicking the file name will give the body, aperture, and if coded, the lens. Flickr also upscales for the Mac retina screens, so this is the sharpest source.
My first time using any Leica. Someone lent me his M240 to use for few weeks. Been raining here since morning, break in rain for last half hour. This is from my backyard.
Two versions; cropped and un-cropped. Which one do you prefer? They are SOOC except for cropping.
Rahul, my pick is first. I feel second is weak in composition. Looking at it my eyes wander top left to center, two sites in focus. I feel a lack of clear subject in 2nd.
shujert, both the pictures are just amazing. Old classic feel to both. I don't care about sharpness or color balance. Both shots are beyond. I would love to hear how you got the two shots to learn something from you. Please spare sometime to write a few (more than a few if possible ) lines.
I was struggling to get him to look at me and stay with that look for a couple of seconds for me to take picture but he was not still till I realized he was after the lens cap.

Really like the second shot, the shadows make for a more interesting photograph, in my opinion.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm very new to manual focusing, so with a moving toddler, my rate of success really depends on how often she repeats whatever it is she's doing. In this particular case, she had a great time throwing leaves on me over and over and over again, so I just prefocused and waited for her to come back. She moved backwards out of focus as she threw the leaves, so I probably should have closed down my aperture. Oh well, the moment is captured, that's what's important
Also prefocused in this photo of her swinging. I swung her, waited for her to come back into frame a couple of times, and adjusted focus. Swung her again, snapped a few frames.

Definitely not easy with these little people! My manual focusing skills have improved leaps and bounds since I picked up the M9 a few weeks ago and I feel confident I will be able to learn to focus very quickly if I continue to work at it and practice. Gary, I've been meaning to ask - are these shots all of Calgary? Wherever it is, it's beautiful and I'm completely jealous. I'm fond of Atlanta, but pretty it is not.

I have not been using AF for very long now as on canon also I had all but couple zeiss lens. But on canon I was spoilt by the focus confirm. I feel manual focus as the way to take pictures now but this focus by distance is still something I have to actively think to learn. But it is so much more fun to shoot manual focus as a non professional to feel like you actively worked to get a good shot.

I wish Shujert! Most of my recent landscapes are from around the Banff area and the other stuff is from a trip last fall to Budapest/Prague. Thanks for the comments.

I couldn't agree more. The process of acquiring the shot is an art form in and of itself and it's really connected me with something I was looking for. As a professional creative, I revel in process. Hell, every morning, I'll take the time to make my coffee by hand - grind the beans, slowly pour the water over the grinds, let it drip ... it makes the coffee taste that much sweeter.
Anyway, back on topic and last of my spamming of this thread this evening. Today, I learned that MFD is about the length of my outstretched arm.
-22C not including the wind chill and the Monochrom kept working until the battery was exhausted 3 hours later. Not bad the camera survived and performed quite well outdoors for the whole 3 hours.
Charlie, I really like the close up photo of Santa and the cute Elf. The colors and tones are beautiful.

Shujert, the 1st b/w shot is my favorite. Great effect of the light/shadow of the blinds. The swing shot is also excellent!
Gary, beautiful colors in the first vertical shot. The b/w car shot is also superb. Maybe a tad more underexposure would have helped to keep the detail in the highlights.

Burningheart, 10F is too cold for me to come out and you are out there is -22C.
I loved all 5 shots. The last 3 are best for me. One is the lines in these 3 shots and other is the fact that the snow is right amount of white that gives me feel of brightness of the sunlight. I like the afternoon shots to show little over exposure in places where it should appear over exposed if this is bright sunlight.In last 3 shots I see texture in snow and it is conveying the brightness too. Beautifully chilly.
