These old lenses are coming alive with the NEX7 sensor, it seems to me, fabulous delicate light through the tone range - perfect for high contrast lighting, probably any lighting...these look very evenly lit. The 80-200/4 is also ready for a full frame NEX, it has great corners on FF. Aperture is irrelevant!
Thank you so much, Philip! Relatively new on this forum, but I have been ejoying your work too.
Lovely images from Tibet! Well Zeiss lenses........help
I think this pairing is going to be very unique. Its great to see how the NEX7 handles the 100/2 C/Y and it looks real good. Lots of character from the 100/2 wide open!
Hi all. I've been offered a mint C/Y 85/1.4 at what looks like a good price. I have a long term plan to move to Zeiss ZE, but can anyone tell me how the C/Y version compare to it's ZE/ZF counterpart? In my case I'll use it on a 5DMkII and an adapter - should I expect mirror problems, infinity problems or anything else?
The ZE focus shifts, but has 9 aperture blades which is nicer than the 8 of the Contax. The Contax should have no problems with your 5D's mirror or infinity focus, AFAIK. Differences between the Contax and Z* have been discussed here quite recently. There is at least one thread with images comparing them (by helimat, I believe).

Thanks in advance!
Had both, kept the Contax, and I certainly don't regret it. No interference issues on mine, which is a MMG version.
edit: there should not be a space between site: and the http address (but there should be between the site address and search terms). fm just added that. :/
