I'm looking forward to having a good quality normal MF prime. Had to sell my Mir-1V as it just wasn't "normal" enough on the FF body.
You made a good choice. Not too many lenses that offer better value for the price IMO. I only sold mine because I have quite a few fast standard lenses, and so I was using mainly it stopped down for landscape, but found the 35-70/3.4 more versatile in that regard.

Anyone done a comparison between the Zeiss 50 1.7 and the Yashica 1.7? I've got the Yashica and I'm wondering if its worth "upgrading". The Yashicha is quite good in the center, but suffers at the edges.

This doesn't answer your question but I have the Contax and ML 50/1.4's and the Contax is sharper in every respect, coatings are better too. Otherwise rendering is about the same. Maybe the ML 50/1.7 is the same or similar compared to the Contax. For the relatively low cost I would buy the Contax and see for myself.

im happy to see some landscape pictures with the VS 35-70!
i have found two good examples of that lens here in italy,one for 200E. other for 250E treatable,is a good price?
i bought a c/y planar 50 1.4, nowi think to buy one 35-70 to add to my planar 100 f2
