yeah, but how many 'good' 24s are out there....now, bring that down to how many good 24 1.4s are there.....
The 24 1.4 is sharper than the 35 1.4 and is a far more unique lens. There are great choices out there for both the 35 (Nikon, soon to be Zeiss and Rokinon not to mention the multiple f/2 35 variants out) and 85 (Nikon (2), Rokinon, Zeiss, Sigma) range....yet only one for 24. For the 24 1.4 to be so sharp, so well controlled with distortion and coma makes it understandable that this lens costs as much/slightly more than the 35 1.4 and 85 1.4. In fact, I'm surprised the gap isn't higher between the 24 and 35
Here is a landscape shot wide open for Uzay. I agree with Ryan, I usually use my Zeiss 21 for most landscapes with larger DOF or my 14-24 if I need wider. The 24/1.4G I use for narrower DOF landscapes but I'm sure it can hold its own against the 14-24G at f8.
Just prefer the Zeiss micro-contrast and color better.
This was shot wide open with 24/1.4G:
Thank you Wayne, it looks like it can be used for landscapes with confidence i can still see the subject isolation. Sharpness and colors are very good for my eyes, i have the ZF21 by the way but still thinking about the 24 1.4

You're welcome Uzay! I forgot to mention this shot was taken on my "lowly" 21MP 1ds3 with the 24/1.4G via 16-9 adapter. Francis allows me to post my 24G shots here anyway.
I tried to get more blur in this shot but my distance to the first post was large enough due to trying to get the whole post in the shot, that the DOF even at 1.4 is amazingly large in this shot. In my lens testing, I found this lens has uniform sharpness to the borders by f2 and all the way to the extreme corners by f2.8. Meanwhile, the Zeiss 21 at 2.8 has lots of vignetting and is not yet sharp in the corners..
LOVE this lens. gave it it's inaugural run one weekend whilst shooting at the range. the only way you can get this lens is from me is from my cold dead hands...
