Thanks. My 5D2 and ZE 21 will be here tomorrow as well. I'll still have to wait on the adapter from HappyPage though. I don't know how long shipping will take.
Plasticmotif, took twelve days for mine to arrive from Hongkong. Got mine from gifts_hunter.....and oh...those sleepless nights while waiting.
I've been busy playing with the ZE 21 and 5D2, but I can't wait to try the 35-70. Gonna get some fall shots whenever it comes. The leaves are near perfect here.
On the waiting game, Australians are world leaders! It takes 'only' 10-12 working days for most parcels from the US, but Europe/UK - oh. Whether it is their rolling public sector strikes induced by the austerity measures or some other reason, it can take 3-4 weeks for goods to make that journey in either direction. Hong Kong is cheap, reliable, fast and in 'our backyard'.
pm, You are unlikely to be disappointed by the image quality of the 35-70 - it is far better than web images can show, and there will never be a ZE one.
Thanks Anden and Krosavcheg for the kind words for the photos of Rangdum Gompa (in Zanskar, India) above.
Yikes, I won this one: 110596226603
I hope I didn't overpay and screw up. I trust it will be substantially better than the 24-105 f4 on the Canyon 5DII.
Mike
I think you're going to like it - the Canon is a good all around travel lens. I use the 35-70 for landscape mostly - for the size/weight and dollar spent with prime like quality it's a very good value. Focusing and filtering may have a little learning curve - do a few tests to check infinity settings and hyper focal & you're good to go. The macro is actually pretty good - nice blur at f4 and stops down very well. Post some pics!
Mark
Thanks, that is reassuring. I'll pay special attention to any tips on focusing and filtering
mentioned here and probably try and get a HappypageHK adapter which I hope will provide accurate infinity. I am really looking forward to trying this.
