Yes, it will.

In fact, it'll be cheaper and better than all the other 35mm f1.2 lenses out there.

Alexandre,

To pair with your Rokkor, why not get another Rokkor. The 35mm f/1.8 is a very nice lens--I really like mine--and it is both cheaper and better than the EF 35/2, IMO. It is especially nice on a crop body too.

Hi Steve,

I always had some curiosity to test this 35/1.8 HH but the f/1.2 makes me drooling :-)
Sometimes I want EF and that's the only reason I'd buy a 35/2.

I'd like this lens to appear to use on my micro 4/3 system. That way I can use it as a short portrait lens, as well as a nice wide angle.

... and the little M4/3 camera will be completely hidden behind the bulky 35/1.2 lens, so nobody will know you're taking a picture

I haven't had the Summicron so I can't compare them. The Rokkor is nicely sharp even wide open (it does have a bit of coma wide open but not too bad), and I like the bokeh from it. I have the MD version which is a nice little compact lens as well. The Rokkor typically can't get infinity focus with a full frame Canon camera and the Summicron can. The Rokkor is also about half the price of the Summicron. IMO, the Rokkor is a very nice little lens especially as a normal lens on a crop camera. As such it works a lot like its bigger brother the 58 f/1.2 does on a full frame camera.

hi,

i did a comparison with the zeiss 1,4.

but its all on a high level.
the minolta is very very good.
but the zeiss is the best lens i did ever had in my hands.
outstanding IQ.

I just got a concrete info that this lens is definitely not a rumor. Expected release is Q3 or Q4 2010. Max aperture is 1.4 but 1.2 is also tested.

I hope they will be able to do the 1.2... That would be something.... I already have 3x35/1.4 and 2x35/2....
