A guy who works in Japan said that he had an opportunity to touch the camera because his company was chosen to test the camera.
He did not offer many details, but....
It's 1.6 crop with about 17MP.
The LCD has gotten really large...Also, he said the power switch had been moved to the left side of the camera where the mode dial is.
He says the design reminded him of 10D...
I'm just translating a post on the website where you guys found the picture of the 7D.
Canon has always disappointed with every release, but in the end we continue to buy Canon because the camera overall has some appealing features. This is what everyone saw with the 5DMkII. Today the 5DMkII is a hot seller.

It doesn't look like it says what percentage crop it is.
i) 18Mp
ii) 100% viewfinder
iii) 8 frames / second
iv) Dual Digic IV
v) 19 pt AF
vi) 3 inch LCD
vii) ISO 6400
viii)Video
ix) “Real Time Display” which probably is LiveView
x) What looks like “artificial horizon tilt” or Canon's new IS system.
xi) I think the top right is 6.3 or 63 zone metering system?

As the megapixels continue to increase on the crop cameras, accurate focus becomes more of a limiting factor than lens quality IMO. Live-view focus has shown that you can get decent quality shots with TC's on non-super tele lenses, if you achieve critical focus.
Yes hopefully the AF is accurate- but the lens quality is equally important. I see this body working only to its full potential with sharp L primes and the super teles- in addition.... the camera is going to be diffraction limited at very large apertures...

EEEEKKK!!! THe suspense continues!!! What crop??
.......I have a feeling it will be 1.6x unfortunately. Don't know why.....it's just a gut instinct.....also could be due to the Chinese leak from canonrumors who pretty much got all those specs on target - and he said 1.6x crop. But I'm hoping for APS-H at least!!! Cramming 3 more mpx on a APS-C sensor could mean noisy images yeah?
Poster says "100% viewfinder" which pretty much rules out 1.3x crop with EF-s, a 1.3x crop mirror big enough to cover 100% would almost definitely foul the back edge of an EF-s lens.

i didn't say it was a waste or that it WAS an XTi I said it was a Rebel WITH A FF SENSOR.
and it is body performance-wise in many respects.
3fps, longgg mirror blackout, long (compared to top DSLR) shutter delay
granted the AF was better and the bod specs are mostly a TAD above rebels, but below, to far below xxD or 1 series.
you can't seriously claim the 5D was a high spec body can you? other than in terms of the sensor
So how is it a rebel? The body is magnesium alloy, and a little more full feeling than the XXd bodies. Rebels are plastic. It has better AF than a rebel. Long mirror blackout I believe is as a result of design of the FF camera. I have no experience with the 1ds1 and 1ds2, but I'm thinking that they are a bit slower than a newer camera now also.
So I'll put the ball in your court, because I don't really have to claim anything about the 5D. There's a reason, even now, that IQ alone puts it up there with the top bodies...Yeah, the handling may be somewhere lesser than XXD, but it's most certainly more than XXXD.
To put it bluntly, I think the jump in difference from rebel to 5D, is as great as the difference in jump from XXD to 1 series, IQ not the subject here though, just handling.
