sometimes, i include shots like that of the environment, or of someone we met while walking around the city. they are a nice addition to blogs and albums. everyone needs to remove the objects they have lodged in their behinds, and stop taking everything so seriously.

Do I like the shot? Yes, I think it's neat. You already know my opinion on it as a senior shot, but even as a stand alone it's not exemplary. I don't want you to think I'm knocking Sergio at all, I'm not. Why do you think I keep referencing his site, and his other superb work? In anything, you should look to grow...in my humble opinion this set does nothing to justify his portfolio.
Now I've been called names here, and the insinuation that because somebody is older, they are out of touch with the times has been thrown around and all that I've said was that while there are some nice captures, this is not like the rest of his work. I know I'm not the only one that thinks this either. I'm just probably one of the ones that's stuck around more than to say "lock it" or "is it still going on". I never said anybodies work sucked, I never said he sucked or you sucked. It should go to show you that when it's over 15 pages talking about a session that wasn't a knock your socks of session what's going on.
Sergio I like some of these but a number of them don't have the connection that I would want if it was a photo of me. It's clear you love the TRA action set. It would be cool to see you were able to share a senior portfolio with more "production" styles/variations instead of so strong in the washed out "current fad" look.
Well I read page 1 and 2 then skipped to page 17. I personally would love some of Sergio's vision. When I first started seeing him post I actually sent him a PM telling him how much talent I thought he had. Will everything he shoots be lighting in a bottle? No. Will he have an impressive portfolio before he turns 20? Yes. I wish I had his focus, business savvy and ability to support himself doing something he loves, when I was 18.

Tiz, he already has an impressive portfolio. Go to his site and check it out. It's a well put together site, with a quite impressive portfolio.
I think the assumption is based off of the layered heavy clothing (homeless do this even in warm weather). While he's wearing short sleeves or a light sweater in many of the pics.

I like your work (stopped by your homepage), but I do to some degree agree with prof-guy - your posing - especially on males are pretty boring, atleast. Not every guy is standing with his hands in his pockets. All the time.
Its better on the girls, but your posing is pretty much very similar there to.
Fancy effects easily distracts clients for some time; but when you've shot enough, and they see eachothers pictures etc all over facebook, and notice everyones got the same vintage / texture treatment AND the same poses, someone gonna get tired of it pretty soon.
Im 20 myself, and I also shoot alot of seniors ( though mostly in studio ), and I try to split my shoots in half; first I shoot all the images the mother wants, then I shoot the images the kids want, and usually I manage to sell in the cool shots(and sometimes both..), but if I cant sell in the artsy stuff; i have the classical stuff to lean back on. Natrually we market the cool stuff most to, but if asked, we can provide shots with simply good photographic quality and no fancy smacny stuff to =D
