I'm gonna pick one up today.
I like to find out in person what this whole "explosive interests" is about.
He says it has metal focus ring.
Paul,
How much extra do I have to spend on converting this to fit on my 5D?
I am not good or skillful person when it comes to fixing things.
BTW, I picked up the 58 rokkor, and looks really good.
Pretty heavy, and the focusing ring is metal.
feels like a lens.
now, I just need to match with 5D.
I just picked up a new (to me) 58mm MC Rokkor 2747xxx which I now need to have adapted to my 5D. The serial number is higher than the "Rokkor-X" noted above but is a plain "Rokkor" Paul do you have any idea why that would be?

In last 3 weeks i have got 5 of them from 200-300$ , but now it will be harder to find one - more people want this lense, price will rise, but it is fair - lense outstanding.

The "X" was simply a marketing thing (sort of like how a "300D" is the same thing as a "Digital Rebel") and there is nothing special about any of the newer versions, so don't worry about it. See page 2 of this thread for details.
My other 58/1.2 MC Rokkor PG (257xxxx) is all metal and was converted almost 1 year ago when I purchased my 5D. This lens like the other is Exc+/Mint-.
It is a fantastic lens--I really have no reason to purchase another but

You seem confused. I think it might be time to re-read the howto I posted on page 1 of this thread. The mount needs to be changed in order to mount it on your EOS camera. I don't know how that could be any clearer.
They are all basically identical and all of them will work with my instructions. If you decide to ship your lens to me, I can take care of obtaining the adapter.
