OK, long post here. First few from the first 3 days of shooting with the new kit, R5II and RF100-500MM. Overall thrilled with the early results. Jim, thanks for the encouragement!! Still a big learning curve, but loving every minute of it.

eterans Day 2024 in Chandler Arizona. I was awarded the anual quilt of honor by my senior community.. Local sewing ladies make it up using about $500/600 dollars of material. I made up a small display in the foyer of our community center. The quest speaker was a active duty Army Staff Sgt. stationed in Nebraska as a r e cuiter. Sgt. Tavenner was the former Relief Commander at the Tomb of the Unkown Soldier. Sgt. Tavenner spoke and thanked the mens club (sponers) and Solera Community. He finished by saying that after listening t o your Mr. Palmer and others, I fell like ive walked among and with several giants.

Congrats Sir!
A wonderful tribute to a Soldier!
God Bless you for your sacrifice for your Country! I salute you today as I walk among the "fields of stone" at Arligton Natl Cemetery placing wreathes on the graves of every person resting here!

Wow Chas! Incredible first captures! You are more than on your way, great work! Don't you love it when the atmosphere shows up to play? Keep up the great work, let's see some more!!
My morning had me on my third trip to my Fort Worth project, still not completely ready for prime time, lots of blue "punch list" tape. I did get a few graphically interesting drone clips of the building and it's solar panel system, but a fourth trip will be needed, at least. Frustratingly, while I was assessing the site, a new F35 made a dozen full afterburner passes to my favorite runway at Perot Field, none of which I had time to grab.
I just got a call from the PAO at Barksdale and it seems that several publications have asked for my shots from the 2023 show for their covers, which I immediately granted. Seems that I won't have any difficulty getting credentials for the 2025 show. This past year has been pretty much all business, to the detriment of shooting fun air shows, hoping to strike a balance in 2025.

Great sharp, vibrant images "chas"! I must take exception to 1 of your posts! That dam squirrel!! 1 has eaten his way into my attic above my bedroom!
His days are numbered!
Again well done!

The yearly event that refreshes my faith in man. If only for 1 day!
These are really "snapshots" of the Wreaths Across America event at Arlington Natl Cemetery.
Individual images taken from a video camera.
I would estimate 5,000+ volunteers to lay wreaths at ALL gravesites!
I will post some actual composed images later taken with my dslr, 5Dsr.
Happy Holidays to ALL the Patriots, OF ANY COUNTRY, here on MA2A!!!

Great captures, Dan! I want to wait for a couple inches of snow over the ANC before the wreaths are removed.
I was at Conowingo this past Thursday, two big birds flew overhead, I didn't have time to adjust the shutter speed, so no prop. motion to speak of.. Here is an eagle fishing sequence from the trip when the light was good.
I read that those "drones" were found over Maryland in recent days....
What type of plane is this? The nose cone tells me it's some sort of surveillance plane?
Fantastic Douglas! So, after cropping, how large are those files typically? Canon is sending me an RF800/5.6 to test (boy do they have my number Ideally I would like to have the trio of the RF400/2.8, my existing RF600/4, and possibly the 800/5.6. I am curious to see what the RF800/5.6 does on the R5II. I'm thinking the 800 on the C400, in just the right circumstances, might produce something pretty spectacular. We'll see soon. Are you coming back for Barksdale in March, your turn to buy dinner.........
