Jim, great shots with the Canon 5RII! Looking forward to more samples!
Some shots from yesterday's rehearsal of this weekend's show in Ocean City, Maryland. I have not touched the 600 GM much as I have been using the 300 GM+2X TC most of the time in the last couple months, decided to give it some love yesterday. I forgot how sharp the 600 GM is.
Crazy I went to the show in Latrobe, Pa last Saturday, Virginia Beach show on Wednesday, then the Ocean City rehearsal yesterday, all 11:00 to 3:00 light. Need more sunset shows that are within 300 miles.. The next and the last show for me this season will be the one in Oceana, Va 4 weeks from now.

I am in total awe of your photography Douglas!!!

Taking a little quiet time to get the MkII set up on the new RS4Pro. Pretty seamless, the 4 has a lot more room for maneuvering and pretty much came out of the box balanced for the II.Still need to rig the Atomos Ninja V+ and a Rode video mic on it but that's pretty straight forward. I really don't know how DJI can make this unit anywhere near the price they sell it for, the technology, like our drones, is amazing. This unit has longer arms and allows a larger payload, balances more simply than any of the three previous units that I've owned, and the menus are easier to navigate, firmware updates are very simple. Worth the upgrade for sure.
Hi Ray, hope that you are surviving the heat! I noticed that you had a pretty good pop up storm yesterday with tops to FL650, hope you got some moisture out of that. We could see the tops, but we have nothing but blue sky.

Yes, it was nice and we cooled from 103° to 77° with 0.1" of rain. The 80 mph winds and hail storm that came along with the May 22 Temple tornado ruined the corn crop. They ran the harvester over several rows and decided they would spend more money on machinery/labor than they could recoup in corn sales (corn futures are down a lot). They plowed the whole corn field. The farmer told me he also lost all his wheat this year from the same storm. Bad year to be a central Texas farmer.

Hopefully he had crop insurance Ray!
Our farmers would be in deep "do-do" if not!

This is a good primer on the R5II. Ron is a very relatable guy, great wildlife photographer, and he goes through his first impressions of the camera. So far, I pretty much agree with everything he says in this early review:

I watched this video Jim and I was impressed! I am anxious to see your images posted here.
Would you venture an opinion of the 5DII v. 5DSr? The rodeo image is tremendous!

Awesome 👍 👍
.. I need to try my hand at this subject someday soon. Impressive aircraft (and photos of course!)

I photographed this Astra on Friday, in the SHADE it was 116 when I got in my car. I was INSIDE the aircraft, INSIDE the hangar, and the door to the aircraft was closed. I think I pounded about five lemonade flavored Vitamin Waters while I was inside the aircraft. I had to get out at least four times, maybe five, to cool off in between shooting and let me tell you, that is NOT a big jet inside........I'm thankful, I think, that the INFERNO that we call Texas Summers is starting to begin to taper off here.
The CEO of Fed Ex and Fred Smith, it's founder, will be visiting my Triple 7 clients tomorrow and this will greet them on the huge flat screen as they walks toward the front door........
