Great set! Nice to be around some moisture for the vapor shots. For the last couple of years it seems the F-22 demo regularly deploys flares. I remember when that only happened at European shows by their mil jets.
Jeff, the F-22 pilot flew twice, I could tell he was trying hard to make some vaper cones, perhaps for the NATO dignitaries.. But the humidity was just not there to make nice vaper cones.
A few more from yesterday. They flew from 10:30 to 12:30, lovely mid day harsh light. I didn't get one single shot of the Spitfire or the A-1 Skyraider that I like, really harsh light and blurry.
Hi Jake, Yes, Larry is a great photographer/cinematographer and an all around nice guy. I'm afraid I'd be out shooting at 14,000' @20 degrees, that ship has sailed for this old shooter...............
This is from one of the Canon guys shooting at the Olympics. He had both the R1 and the R5II, very interesting, and exactly why I don't need an R1...
"Jeff put in a ton of time with both cameras, he mentions that he used the EOS R5 Mark II more during the second half of the games. He appreciated the higher resolution, the lighter weight and he was completely confident in the autofocus performance and didn't feel he had to use the EOS R1"

All major brands make amazing cameras now. great time to be a photographer, even for this hobbyist!
Only on Monday I found out there was going to be a "show" over Virginia Beach on Wednesday (8/21). It's for the NATO 75th anniversary. There were two warbirds, F-22, F-18 Super Hornet from Oceana and the Italian team. Only the F-22 and the Italian team gave a full demo, the rest were more like flyby.
Here are some shots of the F-22 from yesterday. Off to Ocean City, MD for the rehearsal tomorrow..

I was very interested in the pricing of the R5C Jim... $2599(Willoughbys) to 3599 B&H...A $1000 extreme?

Awaiting your posts!
Dan
I don't know why there would be that big of a spread in price if the cameras are apples to apples. Either would be a great price for an extremely capable camera body. I fell in love with it all over again in Florida this summer and I really worked it.
This is a good primer on the R5II. Ron is a very relatable guy, great wildlife photographer, and he goes through his first impressions of the camera. So far, I pretty much agree with everything he says in this early review:
