Going through some older files for a publication, the 1D MKIV was no slouch........................Every time our gear gets an upgrade it makes you wish that you could go back and shoot everything over again............
I lived 3 miles from the end of Runway 27 for almost 30 years. Was great when the 105th ANG was an all C5-B squadron. The sound of those TF39 turbofans was music. Had a buddy of mine who was a pilot there pass over my house at 500ft AGL one day (minimum pattern altitude), that was a treat! When were you there?

Don't even tempt me Douglas......................... I'm in too deep to switch brands now.
All major brands make amazing cameras now. great time to be a photographer, even for this hobbyist!
Only on Monday I found out there was going to be a "show" over Virginia Beach on Wednesday (8/21). It's for the NATO 75th anniversary. There were two warbirds, F-22, F-18 Super Hornet from Oceana and the Italian team. Only the F-22 and the Italian team gave a full demo, the rest were more like flyby.
Here are some shots of the F-22 from yesterday. Off to Ocean City, MD for the rehearsal tomorrow..

Hi Chas, Chandler and I met up with Glenn Watson to shoot the "historic" formation flight of the Birds, Blues, Red Arrows, F22/F35 demo teams over NYC. We all based out of Stewart. I wouldn't trade the experience, but the only thing historic about it was the level of Charlie Foxtrot the operation rose to. I should have known how it was going to go, given the fact it was all Chiefs and very few Indians...........
Just got back from a drone assignment in South Texas and my R5II vented battery grip was waiting for me, it feels like a real camera now. Last night I went out to TKI to shoot the moon as it rose. The shoot was a bust from the standpoint that there was too much haze and the moon was not full anymore, but I learned a bit more about the R5II.When the moon rose just above the horizon there was so much haze that you could just barely make it out. I had the RF600/1.4 on the II, when I pointed it at the moon, the AF immediately locked onto it. I could not even see it in the viewfinder, but the camera recognized it and stuck to it like glue as it rose. I think I'm going to like this one. Not going to be very long before I'm boxing up my R5.
