something I just realized afterwards...

the following picture has been taken in Africa, not in a zoo, I was WALKING in a natural park.... my wife called me crazy to take that picture. I just realized later, that it might have been a bit dangerous....

and another one, much safer

Hey Guy,
As usual fantastic. Tend to agree with your wife.
Am looking foward to see how much you can raise the bar with the D3. It is the work you consistently post with your D200 that keeps me thinking that a D200 is more camera than I will ever need; not that will keep me lusting for something newer.

Now tell us that you took that with a 12-24 and I'd really say your wife was right... Great shot!

I'm just browsing my archives. i Do not shoot as much as i want to since it's all dark when i'm free of work. (no i do not need a D3 to shoot in the dark). Anyhoo, i like this one, the shallow dof makes carlos stand out nicelly against the green background. Shot with my D80 ISO400 200mm F3.5 1/200sec

Hey Tim, seems we are the only one left posting in this thread. Guess everybody is having a hard time with their new D3's and all.

uuuhh Nik,

Thanks for the encouragement; There are more than a few that never post here (Like you Well nearly never ) who could actually post serious pics rather than my my out of the way travelogues.
The real reason I suspect is it is just too cold to get out the door in the nthn hemisphere. Just have a look at that frost that Carlos was standing on. Hardly Bondi Poor Beggars.

Mine are nowhere as nice as any of yours, but here is one of my personal favorites.

Taken on the 4th of July just before the fireworks

and one more for now.

Josh you're far too modest... that last one is simplistically beautiful. Great shot, as is the first... but the second sure caught my attention and held it.

One from an outing this late September. The monochrome version just struck my fancy for a change. These guys were doing quite well in the shallows. Fatening up for the flight to Florida, no doubt.

Carlos doesn't mind standing on frost my problem at the moment is that i can't go out shooting that much, since it's all dark when i'm free from work. And i'm not that fond of tabletop shooting...

Carlos is so clean and noise free at 100iso. Who the hell needs 5000iso anyway?
