That's really slinging mud back at all the Contax Zeiss owners who bitched about the issue - Ya, we bad, you want better wide glass?, you think we can't cut it? - well, here's a freakin' ZOOM!

BTW, this MkIII is a great camera packed with impressive features. Not only the ISO range, shutter life, live view, frame rate... but all these nice little features like the integrated AF calibration / adjustment function ( memorizing up to 20 lenses ), the AF start button at the back which replaces the custom *, the motorized mirror bouncing in silent mode, the highlight tone priority function, etc...
Hm... seems to be a sweat camera... unfortunately I'm not the kind of shooter for it. I wanted the 5D Mk II
And the way it seems, some of the predictions were right and that means the 5D successor won't come before next year... Very sad news for me. Now I don't know what to do. Probably hope the 5D gets a real price reduction. I don't wanna wait one more year. I already waited too long...

I will add this part of your disclaimer to the end of my business e-mail signature - it already contains some legal stuff and this helps making it much less formal.
I am positively surprised of the width of major and minor improvements Canon has included in 1D Mk3, even if they haven't had the guts to rename it properly.
I didn't see the 1D Mk2 worth buying to complement 5D as an alternative body, but this one sure qualifies for it. The live pre-view has many uses for me, hopefully also in macro work. Let's see how different the ergonomics are compared to 5D.
