screw piezo-electric dust cleaning....I've got a rocket blower that can't/won't malfunction or break.
I also have a rocket blower, but wouldn't dream of using it while changing lenses in less than ideal conditions (i.e. outside with a breeze blowing). A self cleaning sensor is excactly the reason this camera is intersting as a smaller travel camera !
It just goes to show that different people want different things....... and no camera is good or bad based on only one set of opinions.
Using a bulb blower is fine when your at home and giving the sensor a once over, but as Dave seid, its not very useful when your out in the field shooting in less then ideal conditions!
If the dust reduction works well and is added to future models throughout the lineup then I may start to shoot Primes more then zooms. ATM I try not to change lenses to often.

>> When canon introduced the eye control focus in their film cameras, it was added to the lower cameras first (Elan7 i think).
The first ECF camera was the A2e or EOS 5 which was a semi-pro model.
>> However, I am actually more than happy with my 50mm 1.4; though it does benefit, like all lenses, by a little stopping down. I believe I got a very nice copy; my AF is fast and quite accurate and the lens has just performed beautifully. I get more than good results with it wide open - - I know hard for some to believe.
It is. I had the 50/1.4 and 85/1.8. The latter is infinitely better in AF speed and wide-open sharpness
I suspect Canon has more up its sleeve than what they have shown so far. The early annoucement of the 400D is related to market pressures at the low end and since there isn't the same pressure at the upper end perhaps Photokina real will have something exciting for us.

In the past, haven't Canon usually anounced all of the products at the same time though?
This thread get's stuck, can you do something about that Fred ?
No, it doesn't - it's your browser that gets stuck.....
I see a lot of people complaining about it - but HERE IS THE SOLUTION......
In the address bar (where the https://www.fred..... etc is), there is a page number right at the end. That number is one less than the actual page number (because it starts at 0, but page numbers start at 1). To force your browser to turn to the next page, simple change the number to the next one up. This is also an easy way to get to a specific page too, just put the page you want (-1) and voila! Right now, this is page 102, but the number on the end is 101. Hopefully this makes sense.

So no new FF body? No new legend? Oh well, the credit card is safe for a few months then...
Yeah, Im PO'ed! But yesterday I predicted the "X" countdown was for the New Digital Rebel "X" model since like I mentioned Canon used to market a Rebel X back in 1993.(and subsequently X derived named Rebel models) SO the X is strongly associated with Rebels so my hopes for a ground breaking X 1-series were very slim. 1Ds mk3 Will Come However, I believe. Certain people have tested the camera in the field.
