I like to be prepared so I use my Bigma with a 2XTC as a walkaround lens. I hope Sigma brings out more big lens at PK. A 28-800 would be a nice addition.

I'm just so amazed that Canon hasn't slopped some news. They were making a true habit of it. Were all talking nothing because somehow Canon has learned security. The real surprise of 2006. I recall a few years ago the dude in Greece with the first trade show shots of some canon dslr camera maybe the 10D I think. The guy was da man for 12 hours. the font of knowledge. He had actually handled something that we now give to our children or dump on ebay for $500 bucks.
This thread is a welcome relief to what happened last rumor cycle. Then, there were dozens of threads of people name-calling and pumping themselvs up to elevated status. I can't, for the life of me, figure out why people feel the need to be pompous on a forum.
Who cares if you can handhold better than someone who has a problem with it? Who cares if you doubt a rumor? Get a life and start making up rumors for us to dream along with. Or at least give relevant photographic information to those that are looking for it.
Canon makes a lot of money selling entry-level dSLRs, so expect a new Rebel type of camera, and a new EF-S lens that the FFers wish they had.

I think it's just as likely that the 'X' refers the the 'X'Ti...
BUT if it refers to a 1DX, the 'X' could signify 'Cross over' meaning the final merging of the 1D/1Ds lines.
And with an 'X'Ti and an 1DX, I wonder if it is possible that 'X' will become the new 'D' in Canon branding? Could we see a 40X, or a 3X rather than a 40D and 3D in the works?

The 70-200 f/4 IS kills the credibility of that source in my books.
If there is one single lens from the entire EF lineup that merits an upgrade with IS before any other existing lens, that would be the 400 f/5.6.
