I visited Alaska for the 2nd time last month. This time solely for photography, mainly grizzlies. I was armed with a lot of ideas and help from several friends, both on this Forum (thanks Greg) and outside (thanks Roxxi). Thanks to my partner in crime, Sathyanarayan who started the idea and who is an amazing photographer and wonderful companion. Thanks to you all for making this trip amazing in many different ways. I was able to observe various different grizzly behaviors and also got the experience the famous and fickle Alaska weather first hand. The trip was not as per my preconcieved ideas and expectations, however what we got was amazing.

Many times, while we were out photographing the grizzlies, small airplanes would fly over, see a bear on the beach and land right there. The passengers would come out and walk towards the bear, take cell phone pictures and fly back all within a span of 30 minutes.

Wow Wow Wow !!!! KD these are fantastic. Eye level on the beach, can't get much better than that. That 2nd image blows me away, great job. Love the puffins. These are so good. Easy Vote ! Well done.

Excellent set KD. That second photo had to be scary to take. What areas did you visit. A number of the places we were reported the wettest conditions in many years.

Breathtaking photos! You captured the bear's power and movement perfectly, and that sunrise moment with the bear and the bird is so vivid, Well worth a vote！

Well, all I can say is that whatever you had to do to get those shots, it was toally worth it. So refreshing to see a different perspective. I do not know how close you were to the bears (or how long azoom lens you carried :-)), the photos made me feel as if I was there.

You really nailed the presentation and comp of #9, hope that is printed large and hangs where all can appreciate it, that is an amazing photograph you put together my friend!!
