The Reddit one is pretty bad. If I were a hobby shooter and saw that after plunking down that kind of coin, I would be in serious WTF mode. I don't abuse my cameras, but I do use them a ton, sometimes they bump into each other and after a few years, it shows.
I would think it would behoove folks (if they care) to put some painter's tape over their lugs when installing the strap for the first time. Others won't care a whit and call it earned character.

I am not sure how much of an issue this would be in deciding .. but one needs to consider when buying or selling used Hassy lenses --the wear and tear on leaf lenses and how they would affect their longevity.

Don't discount the large number of used GF lenses for way cheaper that are around too...much harder to find used Hassy glass.

I don't have direct experience with leaf shutter failure. Hassy warranties up to 1 million actuations within the first year, so my gut feeling is that it's likely a non issue the vast majority of the time.

You see it all the time in used listings. Most X2D units suffer from really banged up LCD frames, bottom plates, and corners. I'm not thinking they improved this much if at all with this new unit.
I really like Bobby but he hasn't had the camera long enough to form a valid long term take on the paint, just like every other reviewer.
Bobby didn't make a long term assumption, he just said the finish felt thicker, which he hoped would be more durable.

Not really. If it were a better way I'm all in. But like anyone I like what I like.
I use manual and auto ISO and lot onmy cameras, especially for wildlife. I like shutter at the front aperture on the lens and ev comp on a rear dial so I can change it quickly and dynamically. Holding down a button is neither of those. And you have two things, the lens ring and the front dial, both doing aperture. Sony and Canon are both better because they have a third dial. I'm not going to have the lens doing ev comp because none of my other systems allow it that way and ai want some consistency. It's not hard to add this in firmware for those that like thing to work a bit differently.
You can love the HB way and I can hate it. That's fine. Likely I'll be in Av 90% of the time anyway with the X2Dii.

There's a thick plastic on the base of the camera. It can be removed but it looks like it's not supposed to. It's really on there. I've left it on as paint protection for the base. I get the same vibe as Bobby on the paint. It's different to previousbX bodies. I won't say it's better. HB have had pretty poor paint all the way back to the XPan.

Other cameras with anodized aluminum shells don't fare much better... Leica Q cameras for example, they chip like hard candy.

Or one can just leave the plastic thingy in place to put it on, then pull it out once the strap is secure. Updating FW now....

The strap is quite attractive, but I prefer function, which is why I use the PD strap, leash, or clutch. So, I never remove and reinstall the quick detach HB strap. The PD strap makes adjusting the length trivial and the clutch provides a bit of safety with one hand carry. Of course, you can also just wrap the strap around your arm. There is also the option of using strap and clutch at the same time. The added advantage is that I use either the strap, or leash with all of my cameras.

Hell, even my nose caused my H Series paint to blister!

I have 4 Hasselblad 501CM's that share this system, I love the fact I can use the same V system straps on all five bodies interchangeably.

Absolutely, that's a valid point. XCD lenses are engineered to operate at much faster shutter speeds (up to 1/4000s, double the more common 1/2000s for leaf shutters)...which adds extra stress on the mechanism. So when buying or selling used Hasselblad lenses, mechanical wear is definitely something to keep in mind.

This is a pervasive issue across most brands. 75p is a flawless lens. No wait, it is the 90V. And now, "I can carry 35-100 all day", "This release is the death of full-frame". Etc.

It's no secret that Hasselblad often gives gear to reviewers and influencers to review (and keep), which can make reviews feel less objective. This one still leans toward cheerleading, but it does come across as more genuine. At least it admits the AF is decent but not great for subject tracking, which shows some honesty.

...and it really was not that long ago when the top speed for a leaf shutter on a Hasselblad was "only" 1/500 sec. which even then was a major selling point for strobe users.
Is there a way to know the shutter count of a modern Hasselblad lens? Is it recorded in the saved image file with lens info like with most other cameras? I guess you would have two numbers - total body shutter actuations (even though there is no physical body shutter) and a # for the specific lens used within the image file?
p.7 #18 · Official: Hasselblad X2D II 100C Medium Format Camera announced!
The camera tells you the shutter count of the lens. Just mount and go to About. Any “body” count is irrelevant and non-existent.

Does anyone know whether L-brackets for the X2D fit OK on the X2D II?
I've found that screen protectors are interchangeable, but was wondering if anyone has both cameras and has swapped an L-bracket from the old to the new.
