the 55mm on this camera is really something to behold. I can't get over the focus speed and sharpness I'm seeing.
I just got a Canon Pro 1100 printer. I need to test this out with some 600dpi prints. The native res is roughly 14x20 at that dot density so this thing should be pretty amazing at making hyper detailed prints.
I want to say more about why I chose this camera but I'll do so in a dedicated post. I think a lot about designing simple camera systems and I think the X system owes a bit to the Contax G line up, which was a perfect little collection of premium components. Just having a 25, 38, 55, and 90mm primes available in ƒ2.5 is such a sign of intelligence from the design team IMO. The zooms i'm sure are great but if I had to guess, people will be using this camera with 2 or 3 of the above primes mainly, and they're all so good.
This has been my problem with Fuji since the X system started. Why can't they make lenses that people are asking for? The 63/2.8 should have been a 63/2. The 55/1.7 is amazing but it's also enormous. Why do they make a 50/3.5 when I have a 2.5 that's not all that much larger? 44x33 sensors deserve 1/2-1 stop faster lenses than FF645 format optics, and Contax was making a 2.0 lens 20 years ago.

Are you using the Hasselblad strap and if not, are you using an alternative or no strap.
What are some recommendations for an L-bracket?
Thanks!
I might be an outlier but I bought some black lugs on Amazon (even expensive at $80) so that I could attach the PD anchors and then use either a PD strap or custom leather straps I had made years ago so that with LCD open at a 90 degree angle to body I can stabilize camera and myself down low with strap taut to my neck.
I seldom need a tripod these days except when shooting in complete darkness so an expensive L bracket I decided was not needed. For L bracket I use the Fotodiox Pro EXXYSr. Cost me about $40 on Amazon. It has three built-in adjusters-tripod hole, length of L bracket and up/down of L piece which when down allows opening of CFe card door.

Agree on the 55V. Also the other V lenses are also awesome. The 38V is now my start out with lens. Is not f2.5 on the V lenses about f2.0 on a FF?
As for old designs, was not this before AF lenses came about? I have a Planar 110 f2.0 Hasselblad, but it is MF as are all my other Hasselblad desired lenses, especially the Superachromatic 250 and 350. At least they can live on with the X-V adapter.
Recommend these attachment. Straps i rotate out depending on which lens i use rji2goleez wrote:

I want as sharp a corners as possible and as nice as the 38V and 55V are to operate and how sharp they are in the center, they are only OK in the corners where as the 45P, heavy 65 2.8 XCD are far better.
Maybe Fuji designed the lenses you are talking about to hit an optical performance target vs a focal length, size or max aperture target? Hasselblad did the latter with the 38V and 55V and it does show in the corners how that is a compromise.
I have the 28P, 38V, 45P, 55V 75P and a ton of V system glass that I adapt and I can tell you with full confidence that the new 35-100 will be used heavily for critical commercial work and landscape work.

Maybe, idk. Here is the 55/2.5 wide open. Not really seeing a corner issue, and I got a lotta headroom in terms of stopping down to improve this performance. (2nd image is extreme corner crop)

You would need something more flat field, those leaves are all over the field curvature / plane of focus. But even with that, I see they are soft in the corner like mine are where as the 45P and 65 XCD are near-perfect. I'm not saying this makes them bad lenses, just not as optically perfect as the other ones I mentioned.
When you have clients enlarging landscape images 10-20' feet across for commissioned installs, you want every last pixel of that 102MP sensor to be represented scalpel sharp and from what I have seen, the new 35-100 over most of the range is critically so.
That being said, the X2D2 and X system overall is a game changer for me for very large prints, the tones are incredible and the IBIS is just flat out nuts. This was in 40mph winds at 13,000' feet at 1/80th of a second, ISO 50 at 5.6 on the 75P. In carefully using Adobe's enhance feature in raw, the native file is now 60"x80" at 300dpi.

Corner looks just fine to me where the brown leaf is glistening due to being wet so I would say f2.5 is good. Your earlier comments made me think about my 38V which has given me some vignetting from time to time.

When processed in Phocus? The lens corrections in Adobe are lacking compared to the corrections in Phocus, and vignetting has been cited as a common shortcoming in Adobe that is not an issue in Phocus.
