Got mine and went to shoot some various subjects at different focal lengths. I must say, the focus speed is as they say, almost insant, no noise, in fact, you dont even feel the motors. It definitely feels lighter than the version 1. It reminds me a lot of the 24-120. Sharp throughout the range.

Thanks for sharing! As ca usual with Z mount lenses Nikon seems to have struck a remarkable balance between rendering and technical qualities.

Cheers,
Bernard

A few more. From 2.8 to f/5, very happy with how it handles the sun, keeps contrast.

The flower shot, what focal length was that?
I think the bokeh is quite impressive for a f2.8 lens with all those leaves in the background.
It seems to share the softer, almost diffused bokeh quality of 35/1.2S which I really like.
None of those nasty double edge leaf that I would expect from the usual wide angle lenses.

A couple that I took quickly the other day. Did more checking out close focus, wide open at distance and near and differing focal lengths. However, the first is the standard landscape shot.

I want to buy this lens so much as I like the idea of internal zoom, but I absolutely love my Z 24-120 F4 and don't know if it's worth sacrificing 70-120 range for a stop of light and better subject separation. Plus it's more than double the price. 24-120 does give me a prime look as it can focus so close that even at F4, everything in background is blown to oblivion plus it does have that 3D pop. I guess I have to buy V2 24-70 and test side by side.

An interesting bit of info. The new 24-70 f2.8 S II lens hood fits the 24-120 f4! It is almost identical as far as length end petal size etc and thus will shade just as well. However, you then get the push button release and polarizer window!

I get'em very early like the 35mm 1.2 S. I blame it on GAS. I'll be getting the Zr quite soon too

I did some quick comparisons with the Mark I on a Z8. The autofocus is indeed faster and practically inaudible. I didn’t notice a difference in sharpness in the center but the Mark II seems more consistent across the frame (wide open.)

The bokeh is very smooth and creamy. Quite impressed with that.

I can corroborate the hood works on the 24-120 lens.
