Sorry, this anniversary edition is the ugliest/dullest one I’ve seen. Leica really messed up with this one. Silver lining is I have no temptation :-P

You must have been pre-order #102, right behind me.

To some extent, it looks like a parts camera?

I'll wait for the Brazzaville edition.

At first, it might look simple, but it seems like some thought went into the design. The glossy black paint finish comes with unique engravings based on the country, and the chrome dials are not the usual ones. They have a cross-knurled pattern on the sides, making them easier to grip and adding a bit of style.

When paired with a chrome lens, the whole setup feels balanced and works well together. It reminds me of the Safari edition in that way..

here is an example:

I think it's a good looking camera, as is the M11BP. But Leica's (seemingly) inexplicable decision to base the BP models on the M11 and not the M11-P is dumbfounding.

While the M11BP is not a limited edition like the M10R-BP was, I still expected them to stay out of stock longer than this – but they're even in stock at Leica Miami right now. Demand seems unusually low.

Sure hope the Safari and Reporter versions (if they even make them) are based on the P and not the regular M11.

It does seem a bit curious having two M11 versions with different hardware and software being produced simultaneously. In most cases this adds cost and results in support issues. Is it possible the M11 is now more stable than the M11-P?

Probably just comes down to extra profit margin (no content credentials, lesser screen, less memory) and perhaps a surplus of the M11 main boards.
