Reading Brad Hill's blog he was talking about new modules in DxO for the 180-600 w/ 1.4 tc. According to his standards he now finds the combo useable. A couple of reworked images. I'm looking forward to giving this combo another go in some better light.

I wish we had more than ruby throated hummingbirds here, haven't photo'd one in several years but they just don't quite pop like some of the other hummers.

I took the Z 8 with the 180-600mm out with me on my walk yesterday. One thing I notice with this combo if I move the lens say from hanging from my shoulder strap to my eye and focus on the subject then start taking photos. The first image or two in a sequence has camera movement. I think I recall having similar issues with the Nikkor 200-500mm lens. I'm guessing the image stabiliser takes a micro second or two to settle down. I use the same process with other lenses and bodies and they don't suffer the same issue. Not a show stopper, just something for me to be mindful of.
