Do you guys think Sony will now produce/release more compact lens for these small cameras?
Like that G series lens we had with a7c?
maybe new small 20mm or 28mm?
My favorite lens on the Fuji X-mount is the small Fuji 50 F2, which translates to roughly about FF 75 F2.8. It's great to have a prime longer than 50mm that's not a hand cannon.

I agree. One of my four lenses is the Samyang 75/1.8. Not bad at all.

I hope they decide to offer a full range from wide to short telephoto like Sigma has with their I-Series DG DN Contemporary family with offerings at 20, 24, 35, 45, 50, 65, and 90. It would have been nice though if they were a little faster at f/2 than f/2.5. Build quality of the small G’s is fine since the Sony approach makes for a lighter lens.
Note: I bought into the Sigma series for my A7C and will use them on my soon to arrive A7CR.

Yep, f2 would be amazing, lighter and smaller than Sigma's series.

I was thinking the release of the A7CII and A7CR would have brought around some new small primes, but alas no. I would love a nice small 35mm f/2 or f/1.8. I have the 40mm but I prefer 35mm. A nice small 16mm, 24mm or 28mm would be great!

There’s already a compact 24g, but I agree a 16, a 35 and even something longer like an 85 would be nice to have with the current 24/40/50 G’s. I wonder if the reason why we haven’t seen new compact lenses announced since the original three is because they didn’t meet sales expectations. Hopefully the line grows and Sony didn’t just abandon them.

I had too much to do past Friday and Saturday and didn't have a chance to pick up the A7CR. Today I visited my local store after work and got my camera. Always fun (but it is expensive to be an early adopter).
Alas, not the chrome version as the Sony distributor messed up and in effect decided I should have a black one. Ok then, I can have a black, not a problem really. I just liked the more amateurish style of the chrome A7C I had.
Well... this is one fun and cool little multi-pixel machine. The grip, the EVF and the AF, the menu and the front control wheel together with the extra custom button, everything is better than the A7C original version. I also like that the un-marked wheel at the top (usually exposure compensation) shows less resistance against beeing turned than the original counterpart.
The shutter trigger has a nice pressure point. When indoor and no gloves on my hands the buttons are totally OK if also small and close to be flush to the body.
The AF, when thinking of head and eye detection is miles ahead of the A7C original. The sensor and all that has already been dissected. I'll spend some time this week to set everything up. There are a lot of options...
I hope you who are waiting for your copy get it soon. I have a good feeling about what one can do with the camera.
Thank you for that! I have been wishing they’d add it to the a7IV for ages since it’s the only thing I miss from my R6 but I guess the a7C II will get more use once I buy it!

My A7cR just showed up. No shooting yet, still charging the battery & have work to do. For travel this is the camera I've been wanting for years. I had an A7c for travel before but missed the resolution, an RX1R2 but missed the ability to change focal lengths. The only thing I knew for sure was that the smaller size packed better in almost all travel/hiking/beach scenarios.
When I bought an A1 I decided that it was a body that I would use for everything for many years...with the exception being if Sony were to stick a big sensor in an A7c body. Guess the day has come!
While it couldn't replace my A1, I have to admit it feels pretty good with the added grip, though I doubt I'll use it much if at all. Here's a pic if you want to see what it looks like attached.

I see you are in the US - curious where you ordered from. Thanks.
Reached out to a frequent seller on the FM B&S boards as I needed it for a trip coming up. Want to make sure I had it in time. I believe he has one for sale currently, or did.
