What if A7CR and the A7R5 (which is the case where I am, HK) are the same price brand new? Would some of you guys still choose the AC7R? If so, why?
For me it's not a question of the product pricing as I can't compare these two bodies.
People looking for a big body will take the A7RV and because of this never look to the A7c R.
I will never buy the A7R V, even if it's cheaper than the A7c R, as I want a small body.

All depends on what body type appeals to you. If you want the small body then the choice is obvious; if you don't have a preference there I would suggest the A7R5 for best performance and connectivity (dual cardslots etc).
Agree. I have an A7R5 but getting a A7CR to use along with it and for travel where the small body is a plus. I had an A7C and A7IV but sold both. Also considered the A7CII but in the end I kept my A7CR pre-order in and cancelled the A7C II.

I’ve been contemplating the same thing. I just got back from a 2 week trip with an A7iv and some light primes, and really wished for a smaller factor camera because I took it everywhere.
It’s looking my use case will most likely be primarily photos during travel abroad and high quality videos at home. With that said, I think the A7CR sensor and size is a potential end game camera for travel and quick photos at home. I could see myself updating the home video centric A7iv for an FX3 down the line too.

I already have an A7IV and I'm thinking of getting A7CR (same price as A7RV) for travel.
Is that the right way to go?
OR the other way round:
Get the A7CII, sell the A7IV and get the A7V for more serious/solo?
I need either one of the compact cameras for travels.
What would you guys do?

It really depends on how you use your A7IV. Do you need the two card slots or the full size HDMI? If so you may want to keep it. If not the A7CII may easily replace it if the snpmaller viewfinder can work for you. The A7C II was my original plan since I really think 33 Mpixels is enough most of the time. I did change to the A7CR since I don’t shoot video and still have A7RV. Either now has AF with AI assistance so that was a wash. Larger files don’t bother me but for some it might.

I'm waiting for user reviews/tests to come out before deciding if I want to go with an A7RV or an A7CR.
The sensor is the same but the IBIS is not. It really comes down to the form factor. A reviewer will not be able to help you with that. Only you can determine if the compromises are worth it in the slightly smaller form factor. Both great camera's. I have been waiting for the A7CR form factor forever but unfortunately the choice of screen Sony put on it is a deal breaker. So I'll be sticking with my RV's for now.

I am familiar with all the similarities and differences. I am just waiting on more user reviews before deciding, especially regarding EFCS.

I ordered the A7CII about a week after the announcement and am curious if anyone has gotten a shipping notification yet. I'm guessing it's going to be a bit before I see any notifications come my way.

and your opinion about the updated EVF.
thx
I did own the OG A7C and I currently shoot sports/action on the X-H2s which has a gorgeous EVF.
Bottom line is that I wish it was bigger and better. Mainly bigger. But it's absolutely NOT a dealbreaker for me, considering what we're getting in the total package. 6 years ago I shot on an A7Rii and Panasonic GX8. Both had similar EVF resolution as the 7Cii and R and I managed to make some really great images. All that said, I like shooting vintage OM lenses and I will be curious to see how that goes as I magnify for critical focus.

Since yesterday the A7CR has been in stock at the three large retailers here in Sweden. I'm waiting for my local shop to get a chrome version one for me.
I guess it will be available worldwide shortly.
