Literally the morning after of receiving the z9, so I am sure I did not use it fully.
(hopefully I am uploading this right; I selected 800pp as long side).
Did you run into any fluorescent light banding or flickering at any of the stage lighting situations you shot? I shot my Z 6II at my daughters’ dance recital and when using the silent shutter there was always visible banding. The banding was more visible the darker the lighting got. Thinking of upgrading to the Z 9 for more than just dance recitals, but the studio used one of my shots so I want to make sure the full time electronic shutter is viable under that lighting.

to be honest I am very ignorant, and not sure how to check for that (I was just meant to be there for 5 minutes for my kids segment but the organizer confused me as the paid photographer and gave me a long table and electrical outlets at my disposal so I felt encouraged to just stay the 90 minutes; I went home with 2000 frames). Here is a wider sample if it helps your question: https://photos.app.goo.gl/xLQ9ad4R614tyYVe7
happy to upload raw files if that would be useful for you. let me know.

Thanks for the reply and the link. The only lines I could make out in your images looked like folds in the background curtain. It looks like everything went well. In my experience, if the lines are in an image, they are easily visible. Nicely done.

They looked good to me, it's just too bad they didn't stretch the background taught as the waves in it are distracting. Though not sure anyone but a photographer would notice.

Trying out a 400mmfl for a few days to decide if I want to buy it. Here are the first few shots from today. CC welcomed and appreciated. No NR or sharpening done. Some crazy bokeh on the second one with the sun reflecting off the water.
