Haha you'd be correct! I got a shot of the bald eagle.... not a wonderful shot but a shot non the less.. We're gypsies so currently enjoying the nice "warm" Dallas weather.
I Did spot a nest near the Eagle we saw but I did hear about a fallen nest.
Edit: Here is my awful shot. Amazing how much detail is in the shot. It appears the Z9 grabbed the branch just in front of him. Shot and two crops in. Again, awful shot but it’s a bald Eagle so 🤷🏼♂️.
I saw a photo of the BE pair in a hawks nest across the field from where their nest fell just a day or two ago.
Welcome to town, although I'm thinking the weather yesterday & today may not be quite what you guys were looking for. This freezing rain is a PITA. These were this morning in the back yard. :-/
Perhaps I'll se ya'll out there. Be safe & stay warm!

We lived in Park City Utah for a month and left to Texas for the warmer weather 🤦🏼♂️. Stay safe and let me know if you find any other fun places to shoot.

Interesting...as long as the PF focuses faster than my 200-500 does. Because it's probably going to be a stop gap till Nikon announces the 200-600. lukemeup wrote:
Not a scientific thing - but it feels like native 70-200 focuses much faster than 500PF. I'll want to get 200-600 when it finally materializes.

It might be a perception thing coupled with how the native lens handles overall (synchro VR etc). 500PF is no slouch by any means.

Yeah this makes sense. Most of my F lenses are no slouch on my Z9, just the 200-500 is more hit or miss plus heavy than I want to carry at this point. lukemeup wrote:

Did you do something particular in post with that image? While the eyes are amazingly sharp, none of the feathers on either head seem to be, which looks a bit off to me.

Prograde cards are on sale at b&h, trying to decide if it's good enough of a discount and if I really need 650's...definitely can't wait for 8k prores...
