I had an opportunity to photograph an agility competition that included Frisbee a couple weeks ago.
The Frisbee component made it a whole lot more exciting. The intensity and follow-through of the dog(s) was incredible and seeing it thru the lens is far better than the naked eye.
Sorry - image heavy...
100%!
You said it: The Frisbee component takes this game to a higher level of excitement. They have time to get under it and time their leap.
You have a couple of shots here that are very exciting! Good work!
_________
I do this with the D850 and 80-400 AFS and it really does keep up with the fastest dogs. But looking forward to the Z9 and 80-400.

Thank you Robert.
I've shot numerous agility events, both indoor & outdoor but this was the 1st one that incorporated Frisbee. A challenge this one presented was that each dog had 60 or 90 seconds on the field (depending on the event) , so at the end of the day - I had a crazy high number of shots. PhotoMechanic earned it's keep from that event alone.

I have searched and have yet to find a single video that shows someone looking down and shooting through the flipped out rear screen.
Has anyone shot through the Z9 flip out screen while sitting down (and looking down) or across the top of water........anyone?
Does anyone know where there is a video that shows a photographer using the screen in this way..... and discusses this?
thanks
Robert
I can't point you to a video but I do this all the time. If I am not prepared to lie down on the ground, I just hold the camera near the ground and use the rear screen (flipped out and pointed up). All camera functions are identical whether it's through the EVF or the rear screen. Hopefully I've understood you correctly, but the Z9 makes that kind of shooting very easy and most importantly without any performance compromises.

I do this with the Z9 all the time, especially if I'm shooting vertically. I just turn it, tilt up on the ground and use the rear screen. bs kite wrote:

Thanks guys!
That was all I needed.
I do not need a video now Scott. The reason I asked for one is because I searched for one and thought it odd that there was no video, considering that there seemed to be one for everything else. So I began to wonder..... "Does this really work the way Nikon claims it does."
Now that you all vouch for this feature, I am fully confident.
I pressed "Like" on Eric's post because that is the situation in which I am planning on using it.

I use the tilt for more than ground level FYI. I use it a LOT in a lot of different scenarios, especially close focus where I just won't want to get mid level. It's a great feature, much better than a flippy screen IMO.

I am glad that you find it to be a great feature.
What is the difference between a tilt and flippy screen?
