haha this reminds me of a post where gabriel would post pictures with the sigma 105 1.4 lens and one of the users said every time they see a picture he posts his web browser automatically opens up the B&H page to buy the lens
Congrats on the lens. It's really a joy to shoot with. Hopefully I'll have less hazy weather here this weekend as I'll be going out with it to get some shots in the mountains.

106mm, F/10, ISO 100. Resized to 2048p.
102mm, F/10, ISO 100. Resized to 2048p.
Finally a more clear day I need to go back to this view get another angle. I am so loving this lens for landscapes; a real joy to shoot with. I tend to kinda want more than 200mm reach sometimes so I am not sure if I want to get another 100-400 gm or the 200-600. Might just be better cheaper option to get the 1.4 TC.
135mm, F/9, ISO 100. Resized to 2048p.
This was from last week really hazy weather hard to shoot yet I really enjoyed it.

I have not tested this lens yet , it actually comes tomorrow but might want to watch for diffraction at F10. It maybe sliding. Or it could be weather. I will be testing for this. Ill go up to Big Bronco and run some tests . It will certainly show up there

Went back when weather was more clear. Got a better angle too Yea I generally do not shoot much past F/10. Seems to me like F/9 seems to be the kinda sweet spot.

Usually most high power lenses go to diffraction pretty fast . My bet F10 it’s stArting to go and F9 is the edge but let’s see what happens on a controlled test. Also zooms tend to have a weak focal length. So that’s another item to look for.

I'm not a birder but this shot is making me believe that the 70-200 and 2x is a very viable option and would easily replace my Tamron 70-180 and Sony 100-400 in the bag. Save a ton of weight compared to those two.
Gonna try one out this weekend and see how it compares to the comparatively svelte 70-180

Those are exactly the two lenses I sold when I got the 70-200 f/2.8 GM II. More than covered the cost of the new lens. Between this and my 200-600 I don't feel like I have given up anything focal length wise, and feel I have amore efficient higher quality kit as a result of the change.
