I send my rental back in morning. Not making me happy. I get home I’m changing my kit up. I’m honestly tired of renting. This makes me want to just buy one.

Beautiful photo Doug. I drive by the exit off Route 15, twice a week and have never been there. I should go.
Thanks Laslo! I have been up to Gettysburg a few times It really is beautiful in snow. I am more interested in the red barns, which are more photogenic to me than the status and cannons. You can't beat red barn in snow! Also check out the Sacks Covered Bridge.

Just ordered this lens with a 2x teleconverter for my a7iv and a7riv. I was wondering if anyone has used the lens with 2x tc on an a7riv in crop mode to get 600mm. If so how does the image quality compare to a 200-600. Thanks in advance.

Does it bother anyone else that the lens doesn't "click" in place when turning on the tripod mount ring? I'm used to having a little "click" feeling when I get to 90 degrees rotation

Loving the sharpness and OOF rendering. Happy for my friend who is getting his z9 soon but I love the light weight and handling of my a1 and this 70-200 MK2 so much. I have never had a 70-200 that I could handle the camera as if a prime was on it.

I apologize for way not matching beauty of the exquisite bird-images above.
Instead, 2 casual samples to compare FF and APS-C crops, using A7IV and 70-200II. My naive impression is maybe the APS-C crop looks decent-ish—until you see the FF...
First is about 2/3 of frame as shot; second about 1/3 of frame as shot. FF might "show" even better if I hadn't micturated away 2/3 of the frame with dirt and dead grass.
A friend asked did I ever shoot for Michael Vick; but this is just eons of "herding" DNA expressing itself through the play of 2 happy and exuberant pups!

So, my left (logical) brain said I do not need this lens, no matter how great it is. I already have way too many lenses that I do not use much, I rarely used the Generation I GM 70-200mm (partly, because I found it to be so mediocre) and my newly acquired Tamron 35-150mm f2-f2.8 is amazing and covers much of the range of the GM II. Besides, I generally prefer primes such as the GM 135mm.
My right brain, however, said look at the art you can create with this amazing, flexible lens and look at all the great photo’s posted by users on FM, as well as the gushing accolades it has garnered by these very competent photographers. It can, also, make great use of my tele-extenders.

Well, I guess I know which side of my brain is in control of my index finger…. definitely not the Dr. Spock side.
“Click”, again. Of course, this calls for expedited shipping.
