B&H just charged my CC and order now says "in progress". I'm assuming it should ship soon?
Interesting! As a hobbyist, I'm not a member of Sony Imaging PRO Support, but I did get my order made within the first minute of the window of ordering opportunity. After I read your post, I checked my B&H status, and it also indicates "order in progress" with my Payboo/Synchrony card showing a pending charge for the 70-200 GM II. I'm still not convinced about an early ship date as the initial shipping date was noted as December 16, but I am cautiously optimistic about this turn of events.

My Payboo card is showing a charge also. Hopefully it ships Friday.

I got mine a week ago and so far so good. The lens IS is very good allowing me to go to 1/15 sec at 200mm hand held. The diet the lens has gone on is also very nice, I need to do the same
It did struggle to focus in very low light as do all my Sony lenses, the one area a DSLR is still far better especially when using a flash. This is with the A9mk1, I have just ordered the A7IV so it will be interesting to see if thats any better as I know the A1 is. I am talking very low light especially back lit.

Well I got lucky today. My FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II showed up on my doorstep. Realized it was shipped handed off to to FedEx on Wednesday but initial delivery was projected for Monday on B&H and Sunday by FedEx.
I was concerned because I wasn't going to be available to sign for it. This morning when I got up I planned to have FedEx hold it but found it was actually getting here today and it did show up by 12:00 PM.
Unpacked, filter attached, RRS custom Arca-Swiss compatible foot from my version 1 fit perfectly as expected and already getting to try it out. Love the weight and really nice for me personally to have an aperture ring with lock. With fixed length very little throw needed to zoom from 70-200mm. Almost feels like my old 70-200 f/4 G did back when I got that when I first bought into Sony.
Also got lucky and sold my version 1 here on the buy and cell forum last week before I knew this was even going to ship.
Christmas/Hanukah I guess both came early this year. If you've ordered hope you get yours soon.

Not true if you pre-ordered from B&H. They starting shipping earlier this week before Thanks giving.
Have mine in my hands at least a month earlier that I thought.

Well I posted that 10 days ago. So yeah it was true at time of posting. Obviously since then some people have gotten them which is great.

FedEx delivered mine from B&H before noon CST. I'm letting it get to room temperature before putting it on the camera, but the light weight is amazing. Since I have the 1.4X and 2.0X teleconverters, I'm wondering now if my 100-400 GM should be placed on the B&S forum.

Let me know what you think with the 2x converter? My 2x is patiently waiting for my copy to show up
